RORY Lobb's future is clouded with rivals believing the Fremantle forward is open-minded about a move to a third AFL club.
The 28-year-old Docker is contracted for another two years at Fremantle after landing from Greater Western Sydney on a five-year deal at the end of 2018.
However, opposition clubs are of the view he could assess his options at the end of the season, with Lobb having ties to Victoria.
Lobb is on a deal worth around $700,000 a year for the next two seasons through to the end of 2023.
Don't rate TBH
You wont find many Freo fans who dont agree with this.Same.
Whilst Lobb is talented, he’s been very “underwhelming” in his career. For a player of his size and athleticism he is very inconsistent.
Because unless we have a replacement lined up, we'd be heading into a season with at best 4 KPFs on the list (if we draft two), 3 of which would be under 20. Trading him makes no sense for where we are atThe currency for rucks is quite inflated.
If we could get a 1st rounder for him and free up a bit of cap then why not?
While a handy player he has underperformed in terms of his talent.
Don’t have the article handy but what was the link he had to Victoria is it through his partner who has family there?

Strange.
He left us to “go home” and now looking at Victoria? How very McCarthy.
At least he doesn’t hold up the club I guess.
Was a great mark.
2nd rounder.
Why? Lobb for Naughton sounds ok for me. When you add a 2nd rounder...I'd take him to partner with English to split the ruck/forward role for the next few years 50/50. Is he happy playing a fair bit of time in the ruck?
We'd have to be careful they don't target our WA boys in English & Naughton and probably push out someone like JJ (who is on $600k next year).
Rory Lobb is on $700k ?.
Wow.
Keep in mind this was the 2018 Trade period.
Freo were desperate for tall forwards. We traded in 2 of them. Lobb was one Hogan was the other.
of course they were. They sure were…..
Suns assessing if Lobb is an option, sounds like a nothing story really...
Yeah, a bit out of the blue. Definitely fills a need though with the 2nd forward/2nd ruck position in the team for next season, just don't think that bloke will be Lobb. That seems very random
especially considering he has links to Victoria that you’d imagine if he were to leave his home state it would be for Vic only
