If the board has a verbal agreement with someone, plus a list of assistants they want and changes to other staff, I don't mind this happening now.

If it's an impromptu sacking without a plan, we're ****ed. Very minor chance we end up in a better position this time next year.

It will be very interesting to look at membership numbers next year. My uneducated guess is that we would have lost a few more members (not and many as this year) next year if Ross had stayed.

Now, I think we'll get a few more back.

I've heard through the grapevine Peter Sumich will be the new senior coach.

I heard that a couple of weeks ago. Suma being cheap is also a bonus - no need to pay the Footy department tax.

I'm praying to the Pav and Sandi's size 18s that it's BS.

All the pro-Ross people have been banging on about how all we need is a healthy list and we'll improve and rise up the ladder.

I don't see that being any different now.

I think Freo would be a massively attractive option for a coach for that reason. A lot of talent injured, still winning nine games and the fans will give you a year or two to get competitive with the "learning the new game plan" line so if you lift above nine wins in the first season you'll look like a hero.

We should have lots of applicants.

Unlike some, I think this is a good decision, an obvious decision. But I certainly hope the club has been talking to Caracella and / or Longmuir. Long term I think either of them would be better for Freo

It would be interesting to see if Suma was appointed if hardie & haggas change their tune to a more pro Freo sound?

When Hawks hired Clarkson, they did not start the process with a coach already lined up.

They interviewed many coaches, found the ones they liked and then interviewed the ones they liked.

They could have ended up with Gary Ayres if they were not as thorough. I hope we do not have a coach lined up already.

Good way to build club culture, sack a coach who’s built our list, formed bonds with the players and would’ve had us playing finals this year if it weren’t for serious injuries.

Could say the same thing about Harvey - don't think anyone disagrees with the move in hindsight

Ross is one of Fremantle's greatest coaches. He took us to our first grand final, he achieved a lot in his time around professionalism and work ethics.

Every dog has his day, I will always remember Ross's good days.

reckon after the bombers game the board were like this is too much we are going to lose a lot of members next year and pulled the trigger..........cant believe it took them so long to figure that out
