I have been very much frustrated by some of the noise from the Sack Lyon Brigade.
But that frustration was not a result of any and all criticisms of Lyon. It was when the criticism of Lyon appeared to consume their support for Freo. Hoping for Freo to be smashed in order to have more reasons to Sack Lyon is something that will never sit well with me and I believe it was that type of extreme post that had some of us questioning supporters.
Right now, I'm not devastated that Lyon has been sacked, even if I look like a goose for recently stating with blind surety that Lyon would be coaching in 2020. We all want Freo to be successful and I've never closed that door with or without Lyon as coach. But I will say this, if Sumich is appointed as Senior Coach, then I'll become a campaigner with plenty of negative opinion and there will be some here that will question why I don't just go and support another team.

Why is it every bloody eagles supporter I cross paths with suggests we need to get Sumich as coach. I haven’t come across a single Eagles supporter who says otherwise. Brainwashed by Hagdorn or what. Seriously some of very good friends are Eagle supporters and drive me insane with the repetitive just need to appoint Sumich rubbish.

Reading between the lines of the Alcock presser, they were gearing towards a 'decision' some time ago, likely just after the bye.
I just believe that decision was that he wouldn't be extended beyond 2020, due to a range of factors but possibly that elements of the game had gone past Ross, he mentioned a few times about how quick the game was changing.
The final curtain call was when finals were out, and they knew it was less than more likely we'd be challenging for a flag next year.
After 3 years of mediocrity we all accepted that in 2019 we needed to be challenging, had some promising wins against tough clubs but there probably wasn't enough there to indicate sustained success.
The only off comment from Alcock was when he mentioned 'even if we got into the finals we didn't have the depth to go far'.
What does that mean? That injuries had crueled the team - not entirely the head coach's fault. Or that we didn't have a strong enough list? Partly the coaches fault.

Yeah as professional athletes you d hope they can move on but I really do get the feeling there will be quite a few perplexed at his axing and the mixed messages the board have sent by doing it.
People suggesting only Lyon and Rosich are removed are surely premature in these calls?

Everyone's having their say but I really wonder where the playing group are sitting right now. Ross served as combined leader/father/comforter for many young guys from over east (and WA based).
We might cling on to most but there's going to be a heck of a lot of wobble going on for the next year or so.
It's a really nervous period, and it could just about go 3000 different ways.

There definitely will be more changes. Off the top of my head Rock is a Lyon man/appointment and should of been gone before him.
Not sacked in the AFL era; Roos, Sheedy (GWS) and Thompson are the only 3 that spring to mind.
