Only 3 days to go and we are back into. Thank goodness.
Thursday nights going to be a little boring for me as I don't have anyone playing with Williams sitting it out.
I am so pissed off with the AFL continuing with the concept of not naming sides until the day before the game. As difficult as this will be during the season but it could be disastrous this week if rookies that we are confident will play on Sunday but are then not named. In the meantime, we have already missed on the rookies who have already played. I still do not understand the logic around this change to tradition.
I suppose there will still be a couple of things that won't ever change. Bradkli will continue to tell us how cursed he is TheRednWhite will continue to argue with him about that.
Anyhow, let's hope all goes well with your squads this weekend.
Let's hope we start to get a few of last year's regular posters back soon giving us their wisdom.

All those who want to put Flynn or Hunter down R3 won't know until after Fremantle have played
who have the other 2 options (Personally i will put in a Freo as R3. My dud will be a GCS mid (TPO))
Flynn was shown on the tv tonight being told by Cameron that he will play this week.

Fingers crossed we get a few of these social media announcements in the next few days.

Looking forward to another season of underperforming premo's, picking the wrong rookies on-field and injuries....

Couldn't agree more regarding teams...AFL are a joke!!! Such a stupid change....and now they are going to introduce an extra player- the "medical sub"

Merrett, macrae & Taranto are my picks this season...starting with all 3
good call, all safe picks. I still have guys like Cogs in there as that potentially underpriced premo which is just asking for trouble.
Who are your midpriced mids if you have any? I'm not confident in starting Rowell anymore

I have Coniglio too. Wanted Josh Kelly, but would need a complete restructure. Only other real option is Walsh. Not overly confident in either.

I chose Walsh over Andrew Brayshaw. Ollie wines and Cripps. He’s a fitness freak..the new interchange cap should benefit him. He’s the type of player to be on 60 half way through the third quarter most weeks and will finish on 100.

I had Kelly only a couple of days ago but have now gone back to Gaff. I know Gaff doesn't have the ceiling that Kelly has but he is more consistent. Provided he doesn't cop a hard tag, you can be safe in backing him in for 100+. I think the new "STAND" rule will help him get a lot more handpass receives this year.

My current mid, ruck and forward set up. Will have to cop the mid rookie 30-40s first few rounds..

I currently have Cunnington and Caldwell instead of your Walsh and rookie. I reckon I will change this though since I don't really have much faith in Caldwell to score consistent 75+. I reckon Campbell can go 55+ most weeks so might as well back him. But for some reason I am not sold on Walsh. I still don't think blues will be that good this year so it might be too hard for him to average 105. I wanted to see him finish strong in the aami game with his endurance but from memory, he just faded.

I have the same thoughts on Walsh. I know Cogs can be an absolute spud at times but he looks set for a redemption year and based on the aami game, he's just going to be a permanent mid (hopefully). We know he can go 110+ in that role and he has a huge ceiling. Walsh is going to have to work his arse off in that carlton team and he may well do it, but I still expect some frustrating 80-90 scores from him.

Are people picking Henry?

The one good thing about this year is that (unlike past years) most teams will be completely different from others. I think the top 5 mids in various coaches teams could comprise 5 totally different players. Similar with forwards. Most will probably start with at least one of Lloyd or Laird.
I'm not sold on either of Cunnington or Caldwell but what would I know?

I've somehow ended up with Flynn as my R2 and Dom Tyson in my midfield.

I need to get to bed before I destroy my team altogether.

just dropped Gawn for the first time in RDT....Hunter/Flynn R2. Have I lost the plot? It literally gets all the spud rookies off my field. Only have to field Powell, Gulden and Campbell, as well as Hunter/Flynn. Hunter and Flynn also play against each other in round 1, so hopefully it's a gentle introduction and an easy 60+ for both.

Super risky to go the double rookie ruck route.

The only way you could possibly get away with it is if you have at least McEvoy in the backline

If they both spud and get dropped, what are you going to do?

Oh hell no, just picking one of Flynn/Hunter R2 and the other will be R3. Still have Grundy.

Goodwin: “We’ve always wanted to use Gawny a little bit more fwd & with the development of Luke Jackson, that’s going to enable us to do that.”

I feel safer getting another uber mid, still at a lower cost, than paying up for Gawn now.
