Glad I didn't pay attention to the footy yesterday as it looks nightmarish.

Gawn C like many others, Jordon bench.
Premos going ok without being great.
Fielded Gulden at least, didn't get Rowe on field tho, never even considered him against the Cats to be honest. Go Crom.
From what little footy I saw Impey looked good, 20 touches at 75%, score doesn't look nice tho.
Payed up for 4 of the big 5 and and none of them even tonned, very disappointing.

Unfortunately I did end up skipping Titch, but it was to get Dusty in so small win there.

17/1688.

Ziebell, Powell (Bergman)
JKelly, Bruhn, Highmore (Flynn)

Can hopefully scrape 2k, dire opening round.

On a side note what kind of stupidity is scheduling an AFL game in Perth at 3pm in March? 37 degrees here today.

Should have been a night fixture (even though this doesn't in fact suit my teams style of play whatsoever).

While teams are fresh the AFL could be also playing more games in Tassy and Melbourne to avoid hotter weather in those early fixtures.

Gaff and T Kelly will have a party today. So tempted to go Rowell-Kelly as a reverse POD...

So I was at a music festival all day/night yesterday and let's just say I had a bloody good time. I must have had such a good time that I woke up in another timeline, one where the Swans beat the Lions and the Crows beat the Cats... Can somebody please tell me what year this is?

Back onto SC, it's pretty horrific... 19/1773 +C

But I'm going to trade Bruhn to donut Fyfe to get Gulden's score. 139 is too good to pass up and taking a donut for loophole isn't the worst thing.

So I'm 20/1912 +C with only Powell and Ziebell to come. Suuuuurely I hit 2000?

We Melbourne based SCs don't like to stay up too late to wait for our rankings, thankyou very much.

Srs though
Hope Gaff kills it, but worried about the heat now. 😒

Get off the acid mate.

How do we get a bit more for a clearance when currently zero points are awarded for clearances?

Yeah ok no need to be super precise. What I meant was someone goes into a pack and handballs it out. They probably don't often get enough points for the act when considering the skill involved and result. Meanwhile an aimless 40 meter hoof that often results in a turnover scores more.

Midnight oil ?

Or mid night oil :moustache: .

That’s not a win. That’s ludicrous changing your entire structure in a knee jerk reaction to trade in someone who always plays well Round 1 anyway.

Now you’ve lost the best MID in the game, a proven MID keeper and Young for a guy who has never played a full season, a guy who’s only had one good season during a COVID season, two absolute spuds and an unknown rookie.

Give yourself an uppercut.

Impey and Daniher no loss.

Neale waa overpriced and I was debating over him and Steele all pre season. Don’t mind the Steele pick, he will have another great season imo.

Merrett didn't suit my byes. I had him and 2 other SP mids out in the same round so ended up going with Jelly as I wanted a POD and he can go huge!

Going to trade Campbell > H.Young via Clark so no biggie there.

Rookies are rookies mate. Everyone took Sharp due to lack of defender rookies, the weather didn't suit Fullerton and he is my F8 anyways and Bergman isn't an unknown if you had done your research on him.

Bergman was on Ports list last year and plays a friendly sc role off half back and wing. He has very good scoring potential. You can pay your fee to me to trade him in next week after he scores 100 as I'm in charge of the Bergman fan club now. 😎👍

He gave away a goal to handball to a team mate. Coaches love that stuff!

He did a few nice little things to benefit the team - the goal he gave away, good shepherding, a nice mark or two. No goals like Brockmans bender from near the boundary line though. Agree Clarko will love it which is a big reason why he will probably play again next week.

13(C)/1289. Errol, Rowe, Jordon benched and unreachable. To play today, wait for it...

Aliir Disney Rowell TT LDU Green Flynn Butters Ziebell.

Expected result somewhere in the 1500-2000 range.
So jealous when I see aliir in teams. I tried so hard to squeeze him in but just couldn't.

No harm in trading in a loophole to get Gulden's score providing you have all of the other rookie spots nailed.

This week of all weeks proved that you need a captain's loophole. No player is a walk up start to just throw the C on and hope for the best.

Not sure where all these good scores are coming from given nearly every pre-season team I saw had a rookie at D6 (all spudded up), Gawndry and Daniher. Considering Neale, Lloyd, Bont, Danger and the like all spudded up as well, everyone must have done pretty well from their midpricers.
Just wait. Those who never post here will be here shortly to tell us how they got good scores and all.

I would consider this if I didn’t need to trade out Powell to do so. If it was a Bruhn type I would definitely consider it more but Powell has been one of the best lock rookies all pre season and I would definitely need to bring him back in next week. Don’t think it’s worth burning the trade to get him back in. Remember it’s back to 30 trades in a full 23 round season so we don’t really have the luxury of burning trades like we did last year with the extra 7 trades in a shortened season. It’s a marathon not a sprint will be plenty of opportunities to make up those points in the future.
