Why is everyone all on the Fullerton train all of a sudden? The bloke fumbles every ball. No game awareness. Watch him... he literally handballs backwards 75 per cent of the time. Net negative.
Im not on his train and think he should he first out for any fit tall forward. I generally don't think he is good enough and is mostly lacking in game smarts.

But I can admit he had a better game today. Probably his best game he has played

Rest-of-season we still have away games coming up against Fremantle Melbourne St Kilda and Richmond. Home games against Melbourne Carlton St Kilda etc. Would have been very handy to win this game as it would give us an extra one up our sleeves as I believe we pretty much need top 2.

How many wins gets you top 2? 17,18?

One thing in our favour is we have 7 home games and only five away games left. And a good percentage at this stage.

12 min to go pies 60 Freo 30. We remain 2nd and play Freo soon, so can skip away from them, not that I think they are our main danger for 2nd spot. Regardless Lions top 4 certainties

If we want to be a champion team, ought to not be dropping games against a side that was 14th on the ladder given how tough remainder of our draw is!

Gardiner was atrocious tonight and has been very ordinary for weeks.
He gives away so many free kicks and gets cut up by both bigs and smalls.
Payne has way more upside, time for a change.
Gardiner played ordinary last year, but returning from injury and his past performances had him rightly in front of Payne. I am now of the opinion that we don't lose too much by playing Payne in front of Gardiner, and with an eye on the future we should be seriously considering Payne. I have previously posted that both Adams and Gardiner average more clangers than Payne per game, so yeah think there is some upside. Whilst Payne is developing Adams and Andrews take the best two defenders and Payne takes the third tall.

Fullarton was good today and made opportunities for others. If it was 4 years ago everyone would be raving talking about how much promise he has. It was his 16th game. I'm not sure whether he's ever going to be a regular good player but people closing the book on him are just far too harsh.
I thought it was Toms best game today, a bit quite in the second half but overall was good. Not sure if he was injured in the 4th Q, as Payne was playing forward in the final Q.

Do any of the players deserve votes?
Bez would get my vote without even thinking, then I need to think.
There are others , but far too many not running enough, but hay that's not the way we seem to play.
Go figure we look at our best when we have overlapping run and kick forward , doesn't seem to be a major priority for us and comes second to booting it forward at contests. Good teams eat that alive.
I am wondering how we go against Richmond with all their over lapping run and carry.
Still not convinced we have improved in this area.
Looking forward to see how Dev goes, at least he can run with desperation.
We play a tall contested marking game and we had three of our best talls out so we probably whin that game if they were in.
Is that good enough to beat the best?
so get the run and carry back and stick it up these teams.

Not making excuses at all as Hawks were the better team and deserved the W but there was a holding free against Andrews late in the 4th that was very sketchy.

It was 50/50 it was there though. Fist full of his collar and his shirt tightened round the side and front. As soon and umpires see that they call it. Another stupid, unnecessary, costly free from a player lacking confidence.

Best Berry has looked all year. Stringing some games together after two injury interrupted years. Will keep getting better the more ages he plays.

Someone needs to tell Melbourne they need to give last year's premiership back given they lost to both 15th and 17th. ;)

Not sure if the trolls come out after a loss or if its posters that just struggle a bit to control their emotions.

We're 8-2. Our losses have been 10 points to Geelong at GMHBA, and 5 points to the Hawks in Tassie.

Only one side has been better.

Yep lets tear it down & rebuild.
Agreed, we've had worse losses in our premiership winning seasons. Melbourne lost to Adelaide last year, short memories. We played with several crucial players out from both our defence & forward lines, regardless of the umpiring if we had one of those players in we would have won today. We'll bounce back.

Berry is getting his run back. Looks fitter than he has in ages.

Likewise Rayner is now doing things 4 or 5 times in a game that we had only ever hoped for once . So he's only going to improve as well.

Once you're up the top of the tree like we are now other teams pick your game apart and prey on your weaknesses.

One thing that totally bamboozled me tonight was when we were 3 down with 5 minutes to play we did the same things we do when we're 3 up. It was time to take risks and get desperate. Overall we just weren't desperate enough today when the heat was on. I think we thought our job was done when we got 22 points up in the third.

Berry had 4 touches in the second half. After a good start it was a pretty average game
his tackling was enormous in the third. that rundown tackle on the wing is the stuff that gets teams up and about
