Sure, I do think though he is hyper-aware of that knee.

He's certainly flexed it a couple of times.

He's only running at half pace and kicking short passes (for him)

Based on that he's miles away from an AFL return.

I'm not sure it's worth the risk unless we are certain to play finals - if not, as soon as we cannot make the 8 (if that happens) then it's decision time for Mitch and that knee.

Can he keep resting it?

Is surgery an option?


I'm pretty sure someone posted that it was a chronic condition - Mitch can't keep fighting though this and keep breaking down - not fair on him - maybe it's 'specialist' time and we send him off for 'outside the box' therapies (kinetics, stem cell rejuvenation whatever!)

The guys only 26 and is struggling to play half a season.

It's not fair on Mitch or the Club.

Honestly - I'd have zero problem tipping him out now and giving him the next 9 months to finally get 100% fit for a full season in 2025.

He’s probably just checking it out after contests. Which is natural coming back from an injury. Idk about being half paced, he hit a couple packs super hard and a few huge grabs.

He’s not “miles off it” that’s silly.

There’s no gain in resting if he’s 100%, which he wouldn’t play if he wasn’t and surgery isn’t an option as there’s nothing structurally wrong.

Again he’s playing so he is fit. Wouldn’t be playing otherwise.

Watching Boxhill there’s many players showing promise. Makes it hard to see whom we’re going to cut from the senior team.

A good position I guess to be in, just spots are tight.

Would the afl consider increasing our list size again now covids restrictions are gone. Geeze I hope so!
