Kingy should be all over the super macs this week .
Conor RS nom ?
Duke brilliant

Great team win again 👍👍
CMac not eligible qualifies by age under 21 but you had to have played less than 10 games before the season starts. Fantastic and his best game though so who cares weddle will earn it and not win anyway!

One of the biggest takeaways for me this week is that we’re starting to show a bit of depth, yes we still lack a few KP, i.e a full back and another forward, but all of a sudden there are some players who (hopefully) won’t just walk back into the team coz there “best 22”

I can’t wait for guys like Ward to get back and hopefully Cooper gets a game real soon, and some of the players at BHH who can put there hand up. Also after this game it’s evident we don’t need Frost anymore.. that liability can stay at BH

That’s all you had to say. No need to downplay his game by saying Hipwood looked great on him.

He (from my point of view) played a much tighter lockdown role than what he normally does. He looked a lot more disciplined and more desperate than I’ve seen him in the past.
It was noticeable at the crowd how much more focused on defence he was without the ball - especially when he’d made the error. He often seems like he lopes around the field, but he seemed almost manic today. More power to him - he’s big enough to play Frost’s role and good enough to add to it.

Ah holy shitballs that was an enjoyable day!
Tad on the chilly side but that didn't matter in the end.
Loved how Mitch gathered them up at the end and had a quick chat - a good chance to consolidate the "first half" of the season which we've finished off reasonably strongly with wins over Weagles, StKilda, Brisbane and a decent 2nd-half fightback against Port.
Kept waiting for us to tire given the frantic pace we were playing with, particularly against a side coming off a bye, but the boys did brilliantly. It looks fantastic when the fast hand-balling stuff comes off!

Lots to love and looking forward to watching a replay on the telly tomorrow sometime with the emotion more in check.
Go Hawks!

We now cross to Damien Barrett in the news room

Sad Inside Out GIF

Lewis is the second best KPF in the competition after Jezza. He has had an impact in every game he’s played.

CMac was outstanding, as were Impey, Sicily, Newk, Nash, Day, Moore, Brocky, Kosi, Dimma, Meek, Worps and Frenchie.

Solid games from Blanck, Weddle, Shammy, Butler, Scrim and Amon was better in the second half.

Reckon swap Ward for Bramble and that’s almost our best lineup.

Great win from a young side.
I’d still like to see DGB force his way in somehow. And Ramma eventually…

Our hard nuts getting the job done again
Yes they did. I do have a concern over Worpel's end product though. His rushed kicks rarely play to our advantage and he does fumble and run into trouble too often for my liking. In 2-3 years time when we are genuinely competing I'm not sure he's in the team as we have so many classy mids coming through. I know that this won't be a popular opinion. If he can work on his deficiencies he'll be there as he certainly has a crack and can sniff out the footy but we might have classier options to play his role by then.

What a day at the G!

Cmac arrived today. Worked hard, willed himself to contests and was clean with the ball. The kids a gun.

Meek was great, especially after half time where he seemed to really start using his frame to bully opponents and create space.

Sicily was excellent after some early clangers. It's great to watch him live and see how well he understands the game and positions himself.

Thought Blanck was excellent today, really building confidence that he belongs and does a lot of work off the ball.

Brocky was fantastic, loved his run down the wing and his ability to win contests he has no right to win.

Newcombe played probably his best quarter of footy ever in the third, won the hard ball, worked hard on the spread and hunted when defending. Was robbed of a shit on goal in the third after some brilliant defensive work.

Mitchell adds so much to our defense. At one stage we were struggling to get much movement up field so the ball was being chipped around until Seamus got on his bike and broke a line to get us out the back. Don't think it resulted in a goal but it took the pressure off us and allowed us to try lock it in at the other end. Big fan of the kid.

Nash was strong again, loved his effort in the final minute. Could have been forgiven for not putting in that tackle when the game was won but he willed himself.

Everyone else was also great also, really stoked to witness it live and to see what the future could look like with another 20-30 games under the belts of our players.

Go hawks.
