There was one where prior was kicking out of D50, Rich just flat footed.. big s**t fight afterwards too
Yep - Prior called Rich on his lack of effort I think. Rich played the same lazy crap football in the first quarter, refusing to get to a ball every other player on the team would have got to, which cost us a goal.

Dear Fages. No chance of a flag with this team as it is. They just ran rings around us. We do not have the run to compete in the modern game.

The commentators noticed how the Hawks kept it moving until they found a hole, and then all took off. We just stood there and then kicked long down the line - or muffed a low % pass.

Rich is cooked. Dawdled around CHB calling kick it to me. Never even tried to chase.

Gunston is cooked. Might lead, but can't get separation, and then he is not even a witches hat. Add in a forward line with Rayner and McCarthy that do not have the legs to go with them and the opposition know they just have to run.Gardiner offers nothing apart from defense. Bring in Froggy, or even Joyce. At least he takes marks and has improvement in him.

So many players have stagnated - Berry & Bailey primarily. Zorko will be back and it is time to give AhChee & Tunstill etc a shot.

DevRob showed he is well up to standard and changes must be made.

I think with Rich what he now offers offensively is not enough to offset how big a liability he is defensively and in defensive transition. His opponent just runs free. It used to be worth copping because majority of our ball movement and attacking play started through him but he’s now lost a yard of pace when he wasn’t quick to start with and he’s lost penetration on his kicking, not a huge amount but just enough to make him way less damaging.

I absolutely love Richy and would love to see him retire a premiership player as much as anyone. He was one of the only highlights of that shocking period from 2010-2016 but I don’t think we can compete with him in the side anymore. Wilmot, McKenna and Coleman offer enough offensively now and I think we’d be better off replacing Rich with a hard running, defensively strong player such as Ah Chee to close that gap in our game plan with Rich where an opposition player runs free and offers a free option ahead of the ball when the opposition team is running forward.

Pretty uninspiring presser. Normal programming. Acknowledged we were poor obviously, but not prepared to give any emotion. Bristled at being queried about selections. Unfortunately, when you lose Fages, the scribes will question your decisions.

Disgusting.

Any side with a modicum of run and spread will destroy us. I fancy our chances against the likes of Melbourne and Collingwood more than Adelaide, Hawks, Saints.

Gunston and Rich must go out. Both have been tremendous players but we are seriously hampered by their inability to keep pace with the modern game.

We desperately need some speed and creativity. Lohmann, Madden, ?Fletcher - don’t care, we need a couple of these types to keep pace.

Players I’m happy ship off:
Bailey
Berry
Rich
Gunston
Linc
Gardiner

Some are worth currency, some out to pasture. The time has come to bring in younger blood.
If we don't measure up this year I agree it's time to get some capital out of players who still have some value and aren't overly helping us.

That's the only way to get better.

That is so disappointing, I will never go to another game Gunston is selected in, weak gutted, effortless spud. Fagan gotta get some shit about him, just accepts pathetic efforts.

He staggered like a drunken sailor when he got up, Sicily did a sort of sling tackle and it was obscured on the vision but probably hit his head on the ground.

It was RIGHT ON FRONT of me - Hugh looked like he was out cold. I’d be shocked if he wasn’t concussed.

Fagan is unlikely to make wholesale changes - he's always been pretty loyal to a core group of players. Ruthlessness need to start from the top. We need a new coach I think.

The usual Fagan denialist attitude.
Was happy to answer a question about Eric, said the criticism of him had been unfair.
Next question was on Dev. Fages said he wouldn’t comment on individual players.
Says it all really

Your Lions have been amazing this year, just an off game for your team. You will bounce back next week for sure. In saying i that thought my Hawks deserved the win.

Well wishes on Hugh McGgluggage, hopefully his injury is not to serious.

My tip... Lions V Pies for GF day 2023.
Thaks for the goodwill but I don't think this current group has what it takes.
