Anyone sticking up for the effort I feel
Sick - every single player is reactive to effort that’s hack footy, nobody creating option, running, moving just stagnate crap

Very disappointing from the midfield. Port are a good side but this is embarrassing. Need to change the mix as we are slow and reactive.

Hartigan is probably the only guy who can hold his head up.

Lmfao who? Please tell me

WTF... Are you seriously sticking up for Nash? You actually think his selection was warranted for one decent seconds game?

Alright fine here are 6 BETTER players. Hanrahan, Saunders, Brockman, Jeka Maginness, Downie.

Give me any of them over Nash.

Starts in the midfield. Hard to recall when the Hawks won a clean clearance, but Port have had them in spades. To keep them to eight goals in a half with the service their forwards have received is a fair effort. To have only kicked one goal in a half is not unexpected given the way our midfield has been crushed.

O'Meara has resorted to trying to do too much, Newcombe has hardly touched it, Shiels has been ineffective, Phillips invisible and Mitchell has half a hand on the crown for worst on ground. Bramble has been decent but cannot and should not be expected to carry the load by himself.

A lot of creators have been taken out of this team in the last 2 weeks. That plays a part when the players around them are more distributors/honest performers.

Also feel bad for nash, any confidence he has is sucked away by playing in a pocket he can’t play and with no support - so instead of bringing in any form he is left saying wtf

Nash has had 3 years too long as a professional footballer . Lacks football nous, understanding and skill. When you are missing those 3 components you need to try something else.

Look, we were always in for a drubbing with the outs. Hopefully we even things out second half and make a contest and have some smalls wins to take from the game.

I'm always fascinated how some umpires react to realising they've made a bad mistake. Rozee should be done for staging. Everyone on the ground knows he cheated and the umpire was sucked in. Even the umpire knows it. But instead of being angry at Rozee he's angry at the Hawthorn players for highlighting his embarrassment - and has spent the whole second quarter looking for any reason to penalise us. Hopefully the umpiring dept have a word later in the week.

I never see it as an effort thing with us but we obviously have an extreme lack of talent and pretty poor skill level so it doesn’t take much for mainly limited players confidence to drop pretty quickly.

You also need some level of confidence, I agree his basically done but we know what he can’t do yet clarko says hey let’s try it again - that’s shit effort to

Who coaches the midfield?

Ahh well
Port are a very strong side, and we are firmly in a youth rebuild, whilst missing 4 or 5 best 22 players

We just aren't getting our hands on the footy though

Hopefully a bit of a change around in the second half

Academy award nomination coming for Rozee too
Surely cops a fine after Daniher did a few weeks back

We've beaten the Swans and the Giants over the last few weeks and we should have beaten the Bombers. No need to stress over this Fairweather mob, we ****ed it against them when we were winning premierships

He seems to just lope around aimlessly, never in top gear, never really doing anything. A headless chook. Goes ok when it’s in tight but that’s about it.

Quit posting rubbish, please.

Nash had more disposals and clearances playing as mid last week than anyone else at Box Hill for some time, your fantasy where there was better players is just that.

Nash deserved his shot, but he also needed to be played in the position where he actually performed at Box Hill, at least. In the middle.

The lack of bravery with ball movement from the back half is terrible, if you’re going to make mistakes at least make it an attacking mistake rather than a sh*t scared safe kick.
We dont have Day there setting us up and linking play .
Telling we miss a 19.yo that much . He is a HUGE out .

Its positive for us going forward though
