Good win today. I thought we played a good first quarter, blistering second, and put the que in the rack in the third and particularly the fourth quarter. Considering we have a huge game against Port, l thought we would taper off once we sustained a big lead.
Watching the Daicos boys live is a thing of beauty. The way they find space in congestion, to their elite kicking skills to their goal kicking ability. Just love going to the footy to watch them. Both were brilliant today, probably the 3 and 2 Brownlow votes.
I thought Adams, Crisp, DeGoey, Maynard, Quaynor and Moore, were all very good today. Great to see Billy Elliott and AJ kick 7 between them, and l thought McStay was good in his first taste of senior footy for along time, and Oleg is fast becoming a staple of this team. His run and carry was excellent today, and he surprisingly is becoming a weapon off HB....

Well, what to say about that game?

Q1 - Playing around with the footy, having a laugh, not taking the game seriously.
Q2 - Completely annihilated them. Just pulverised them with a 10 goal blistering performance. Awesome footy!!
Q3 - Good thing I had a bottle of Merlot on standby as it got me through that snore-fest.
Q4 - Good thing I had a bottle of Cab Sauv on standby to get me through another snore-fest.

In the end it was a comfortable win. Did what we needed to do. Nothing more. I should be satisfied with an 8 goal win but for some reason I'm looking for more. I think I need to temper expectations.

Loving Markov's pace through the guts. Welcome back McStay, good game first up. Just a solid game from everyone really.

Carry on Woodsmen!!

Don't forget nobody works in the Melbourne CBD on a Friday now and public transport is also shot to s**t at the moment, so it's harder to get a big crowd there on a Friday night than it used to be when there was the traditional after work drinks crowd to draw on.

p.s. The snow season is also well and truly up and running now so the Range Rovers and Cayennes have been loaded up with driving chains and snow gear for a lot of Melbourne supporters, because we all know what the #1 sporting pursuit is for them in July-September...
Didn't stop Marvel being sold out for the Matilda's v France friendly.

Watching replay now. Bruzzy going to be ok with first quarter tackles? You know how the AFL has been this year.

Another good win today. Special mentions to IQ, Marko, Bruzzy down back, Tay Adams, Nick and Josh through the middle, Cox rucked well and Billy, Ash and McStay stood out forward then you have a nice even spread of contributors across the board. Nothing fazes us much despite different personnel rotating in and out due to injury or returns from injury. Go Pies

Good win. That second quarter was marvellous. But its frustrating when we put the foot on the pedal for a quarter, then take it off. Knowing the game is won lol Hopefully just gearing up for the bigger games.

Good first game back for Mcstay (that mark was great which resulted in his 2nd goal) did a few other nice things too.
Smalls (beau, hill) were quiet.
Johnson did enough for another week with 3 goals.

Frampton.. just not a forward unfortunately. It's defence, ruck or nothing, and I say that in the nicest way.

We did become a bit lazy at times. But we did what we needed to do as we go toward two big games in the next 2 weeks.

Nick... well, what's to say? Nothing we dont expect. Except he should have had a few extra goals, left some out there on the park.

What’s Freo’s history? 1995?

Meh. Port Melbourne or Claremont have more history
I refer you to Wikipedia. The AFL Freo franchise dates to 1994 but unlike Gold Coast Freo's heritage goes back much further.

The Fremantle football club actually dates to 1881 and played the first official game of Australian football in West Australia that year. Fremantle had two teams playing in the WAFL and they were the most dominate clubs in the early years of the WAFL. They got the nod as a second franchise in their state for a reason. Strong history and heritage and strong support base guaranteed from having 2 WAFL teams. Freo has about the same membership as Port which is more than double Gold Coasts.

Are you saying the AFL Freo team is the same team as the one from 1881??

Are you saying the AFL Freo team is the same team as the one from 1881??
It's much the same as Port Adelaide. The AFL sides are derived from long established state league sides, so they do have history and culture, whereas the Suns are just a boil on the bum that is the Gold Coast.

Are you saying the AFL Freo team is the same team as the one from 1881??
No. They don't need to be the same club to draw from the same heritage. They are FREMANTLE football club. They represent Fremantle.

You are saying that Fremantle with their football pedigree and support transferred from TWO WAFL clubs is somehow as irrelevant as Gold Coast.

That's just patently ludicrous but by all means keep doubling down and explain to me why that is the case.

A no fuss win. Outstanding second quarter and went through the motions in the other three.

Nick Daicos was BOG yet again. There's nothing more that needs to be said that we haven't already said previously.

Adams was very good. Arguably our best player just behind Nick today, so that was a real positive.

On the forward line, good to see Elliott and Johnson hit the scoreboard multiple times again. McStay got through his first game back without too much issue.
