Neale’s turnovers and poor choices in the last were clearly a product of fatigue. He was sensational for most of the game and his 32 disposals, 9 clearances and a goal will be enough to pick him up another 3 Brownlow votes.

Would like to see Prior in for Robinson next week.

Rich takes away a lot of what Coleman has to offer when in the team.

Voted for Zac, O, Matho, McStay and Charles

Harris good also.

Clugga stinker. Surprised with his votes once again. Not sure if he is any good in the guts.

Fab5 I went for Oscar, Bailey, Starce, O and Matho > McStay good as well and a few superb kicks from Kiddy.

1- It was noticeable at the game that late in the 3rd quarter we became lackadaisical in our approach and dropped off in intensity, so frustrating we are not a team that can slacken off as we haven't got the run to cover when the game becomes open.
2- At least we played really well for nearly 3 quarters this week.
3- Lachie was guilty of some terrible kicks today.
4- O dominated the ruck contest, momentum turned in the 3rd when McStay took the ruck duties.
5- Matho was really good and Starcevich is a gun, him in last week and we win.
6- Kiddy needs to take the kick ins and I think Richy stifled his open game play a bit today, Kiddy needs to be first option.

Can't say that the sh*t eating grin on Crisp's face after he 'accidentally' KO'd** another player reduced the lack of endearment I was feeling in his general direction ...

** I know he wasn't knocked out but 'nearly crippled', 'tried to kill', 'callously obliterated' were the other options that came to mind and they didn't fit either...

I like what Joe has brought to us but please stop playing for free kicks, use your bloody body in a contest, a few times today he was knocked over by a feather touch, so annoying.

Our 3 tall forwards are not really rough and tumble, crashing packs and causing carnage type players, we need one IMO.

That just about sums it up today. It was pleasing to see Lyons in a bit of form and Bailey was back to something close to his best. McStay’s four goals was a welcome contribution also.

Mentally I'm moving on to next week already. A game we need to win convincingly.

Still seething over Cripps dog act. Against one of the most fearless and fairest players in the game in Cal. Shame on him.
Haven't finished watching the game yet, have only been able to keep an eye on the scores today but that Cripps hit and the commentary around it is absolutely pathetic. Commentators celebrating the hit as a 'captain's effort' to pick up his team, and what he did lifted his teams intensity. Absolute rubbish, chose to bump, left his feet, hit him high, Cal had to be subbed off, if it's not at least 2 weeks I'll be filthy. If we start celebrating these kinds of things the sport is only going backwards.

we need to master the art of running down the clock and arresting momentum. some of our players great at it (rayner) others show very low footy iq in those circumstances

hard to pick votes

neale, big o, bailey, McStay

tough choice between Gardiner and Andrews for my final vote. gave it to Gardiner

Yep, there times in the last quarter we played on fast that lead directly to goals. We where 8 goals up the first time, there was no need for it, we where 6 goals up the second and again no need for it….and so on and so on…

Bit of a false economy that game. Carlton played really, really poorly and missed a lot of easy kicks which resulted in goals for us. Once they got their game together they scored way too easily. Still so far off.

Yep - Gave away a silly free when we had control in the corridor and gave away another with his schoolboy unrealistic attempt nonsense. If only Daniher would grow up a bit and start playing mature football. He certainly is mercurial, but we need more out of him and we need it for four quarters come finals. 🤞

I know 'glass half empty' is popular on this board, but you're completely underselling our defensive transition running, pressure etc. We caused turnovers and punished them. It was a very good 3 quarters.

Not glass half empty, Carlton were completely off. A lot of those kicks were unforced errors. Against better teams, those kicks hit targets and cut through our defence. Just realistic about where our team is. Wouldn't get excited about that win. As I said, from my viewing bit of false economy.

Agree to disagree on that one. :)
