Comparing the strengths and weaknesses of both sides, it is very hard to see how we can win.

I did feel the same against the Suns and the Pear so I must be a poor judge (although those matches were at
Adelaide Oval).

I can see a walloping is on the cards and we then enter “mathematical possibility” territory and we all know what that means.

I hope to see a good performance from some or hopefully all of our Kids. Hopefully they learn a bit today.

Disagree. We will lift like rarely seen this year and give our all. Clearly odds are with Lions but we don’t die wondering.

If we deliver an Essendon type performance today I will be royally pi$$ed but don’t think that will happen. Biggest concern is their Uber talented forward line. Will Daniher play for frees against Keanes tendency to have soft hands in back. Will Hipwood get away from Borlase and if so who can Borlase go to. Thankfully we have 2 flexible beauties in Worrell and Hinge who can possibly step up here. CC dangerous plus MC Carthy, Rayner and friends. We are so extraordinary inexpe in defence - that’s my worry - despite holding up brilliantly all year overall.

Win today and I think we progress past week one of finals.
I like your enthusiasm/optimism :thumbsupv1:, but that would mean winning FOUR games in a row (really, 6 in a row, going back to PA!) which would require consistency our group has not yet shown.
Beating PA --- how sweet that was!! --- and GCS surprised me, especially without Rankine and Murray, but Brisbane at their 2023 Fortress is a huge ask.
I hope I'm wrong, but I can't see it happening (our AWAY record is dismal).
I doubt that it'll be close, even. Brisbane by around 4 goals.
Lose and we are unlikely to make finals.
Yeah, this.

Likely to be a loss. The positive side is that because we've won the last two we will still be a pretty good chance of making finals even with a loss today. Win and a home final is a possibility.

Lions are very difficult to score against at home and seem to have gotten better at it as the season has gone on.
The defensive action they employ seems to be to get spare numbers behind the ball and pressure the ball carrier and then intercept the high ball and mop up at ground level and then explode on the exit.

Can we draw their defense with run and lead up passing/handball and force the Lions defense to become accountable each for a man?

In the end I think it will come down to work rate of the midfield and our goal kicking accuracy.
Hunt, spread and hit your targets.
Go Crows.

Probably a loss for the Crows and the Matilda's coming up but we live in hope.

We've had some wins this year that have raised us up a level (Port, Bris, St K, Port again) but we've narrowly missed the chance to have that breakthrough quantum level jump by taking a big scalp away.

Collingwood and Melbourne MCG games would have been huge. This is another opportunity. All on the line. Massive underdogs. The group needs a win like this at some stage.

It feels like we're ready...?
