Does Hartigan come in?

Brockman and Butler haven’t been named for Box Hill’s game today. You can rule them out for this one as a replacement for Wingard.

IN: Day

OUT: Wingard (Injured)

B: Hardwick, Frost, Grainger-Barras

HB: Jiath, Sicily, Scrimshaw

C: Morrison, Mitchell, Ward

HF: Newcombe, Lewis, Gunston

F: Breust, McEvoy, Moore

R: Reeves, O’Meara, Worpel

INT: Day, MacDonald, Nash, Maginness, Phillips (Sub)

EMG: Howe, Shiels, Long, Hartigan

Was Wingless hammy just tightness or worse. Either way you'd think it would be at least a week

Depending on match ups it would probably be a straight swap for either Day or Shiels

Can't see anyone else getting dropped regardless of performance. Don't mess with a winning formula

Can our current lineup in defense be able to handle Curnow and Mackay ?

Curnow is far more athletic than McKay, much better at ground level. Frost is the perfect matchup in my opinion, as he has the speed to be able to match him. Unless Hartigan comes in, I don't know who gets McKay. We need to win the midfield battle and limit Carlton's forward 50 entries.

vs McKay?
Frost vs Curnow
Grainger-Barras vs De Koning
Scrimshaw vs Silvagni
Sicily vs Cripps

Is Hartigan still on our list?

Jeez, would not want him in. Absolute Butcher and McKay would give him a bath

Frost on Curnow but not sure about McKay. We didn't really have key defender to take the gorilla's
Would prefer Sicily to peel off

Sic to Curnow
Frost to MacKay
DGB to De Koening or resting ruck.

CJ and Scrim 3rd up all day.
We have enough pressure from midfield I would back in our team defence under the high ball.

Hard pass on Hartigan. Purely back-up this year

If you guys haven't noticed, our defenders are doing fine as is. We're not going to make changes like bringing Hartigan in for McKay when our current defenders managed to keep a Norf forward line with 3 talls and a rotating ruck quiet. We have a good sized, flexible and mobile defense who can all pretty much match up on all sizes and peel off and assist where needed.

Definitely not true. Zorko was subbed out last week and played today
Oh right, that must just for concussions? Idk.

I remember the messaging was that they'd have to sit out for 12 days, but just searched it and it states "should a subbed-out player recover from an injury other than concussion before the next match, he may be granted to play provided his return is ticked off by the AFL Medical Officer."

So really you can be a funny bugger with the sub rule and have no ramifications.

Some new science suggests heat is better. Ice may be on the way out.
Indeed. If you're aiming for recovery, ice temporarily stops the inflammatory process which means that it slows down recovery. It's still good for taking down swelling or pain mitigation if you want to get someone back on the ground asap, but if the aim is to recover there are better methods.

I’m not sure it’s fair on the guy to do it each week, but I love Tommy Phillips as the sub. He gives us so much run and effort when he comes on.

When Phillips comes on he picks up the pace of the game straight away. Some players take five to ten minutes to get going.

Well done to Tommy. Not helping himself if he hates being sub.
