Wouldn’t have Darling in my best. Service was too poor in the first half but gets an HM for his impact once the service came.

5. Naitanui - Geelong didn’t stop so much as Naitanui deprived them. BOG
4. Shuey - was best on ground in the first half and his last 10 minutes excellent.
3. Gaff - Run and distribution was excellent all game.
2. Shep - Has started the year at his best. Just clutch in defence.
1. Sheed - this could a few different players. Giving it to Dom because he had to come up against some of the games “best” midfielders and he more than held his own. Feel like he somewhat arrived as a player today. Kicking was below his best.

*I've said in another thread I thought Sheppard was average, but that given how many people are raving about him I'm prepared to accept I was probably misidentifying him and that he must have played a good game. That being said, I still think it's disingenuous for me to now give him votes. Just to get in before the replies.

Dropping Naitanui out of the votes would be criminal.

5. Sheppard - BOG by a mile. Took some massive marks and massive spoils. Kept Menzel quiet
4. Nic Nat - Tore it up and turned the game, some of his taps to advantage were gold
3. Gaff - Great work rate and kicking goals as well
2. Shuey - Superb a little quiet in the third
1. Ryan - Forwards are paid to kick goals and he kicked three clutch goals

Wasn't just his intercepting and spoiling work that made me thing he was BOG. He had no regard for his body whatsoever. Was Beau Waters like today. Some team mates of his could learn from that kind of intensity.

5 - Sheed. Worked hard and was our most consistent at the contest for 4 quarters. Hugely positive game.
4 - Shep. Saved us.
3 - Nic. Just so influential.
2 - Shuey.
1 - Ryan

Nailed the votes, 100% right.
Sheed best on, stood up big time. Missed a couple early but was in every content and only mid still working hard when play went other way. Kicked epic goal late.

Shepp back to his 2015 form, huge today!!!

NN and Yeo wpn the match in the last 10 though. Glad the put Yeo in midfield late.

1: Waterman, best 0-goal game by a key forward I've seen in a very long time.

HMs to Shuey, Ryan, Lecca, Darling's last 15 minutes, Yeo's last term.

Damn right mate. Bloke hasn't skipped a beat for mine. I'm so impressed by how good his hands are for big bloke, not to mention a young one.

5. Shuey
4. Shep

Ryan very stiff to miss on the 1 vote.

We had a fair few cameos. Lecca is having some sort of renaissance. Darling with ice in his veins.

Wth is going on with Gov though? Are sides putting more work into him? Hopefully he sorts himself out soon.

5. Sheppard - does he lose one on ones? He knows when to leave his man and impact the next contest. So much courage.
4. Naitanui - campaigners just so lit. Can't believe people questioned if he'll ever be back this preseason
3. Sheed - His kicks early weren't that great, but really love his development this season
2. Darling - his efforts to impact contests when he can't mark it is really impressing me.
1. Ryan - please be back ASAP

Edit, forgot NicNat so had to bump this guy to
0. Waterman - just needs to lift his field kicking

5.) Sheppard
4.) Naitanui
3.) Shuey
2.) Waterman
1.) Ryan

-5 Mathew Pavlichs commentary. Do the Pav: Everytime Mathew goes "Ho" "Huhmph" "Oooo" "Hooo" or "OoH" or heavy breathes into the mic You have to take a a drink, and try not to pass out before quarter time. Fast becoming Nu-Basil if he doesn't sort it out

Watching the match highlights is quickly becoming unbearable. A breathy "Hoo" every 5 ****ing seconds is just miserable to listen to

5 N Naitanui
4 A Gaff
3 L Shuey
2 B Sheppard
1 L Ryan

HM Sheed - just had too many poor moments whereas Ryan executed almost everything well
