Monday 25th April (ANZAC Day)
Collingwood v Essendon at the MCG

THUMBS

- Adelaide in white clash
- West Coast in full royal (beautiful matchup with sydney)
- Will we see the new GWS Clash? probably not, last couple times theyve played st kilda theyve just worn the home jumper with the white shorts.
- Carlton's new (albeit used before from 2007) clash to be unveiled vs Freo

The rest is pretty straight forward

This round will be the fourth different jumper Essendon has worn in a row (Black, red, country & Anzac). Has this happened with any other club before?

It's quite common, especially with those teams that have an away jumper. It occasionally has gone to five games, its not any common.

4 separate jumpers through? Not just alternating every week.

St. Kilda completed the 4-peat just this week.

Round 1 - Clash
Round 2 - Roo 300
Round 3 - 1966 Celebration
Round 4 - Home

Anzac Day is gonna be even worse with the lack of distinctive red on the Bombers' strip. Ughh.
It's a shame Collingwood couldnt have designed a white based Anzac jumper - then both teams would be in traditional jumper, and the there would be almost no clash.

In fact, with the rise of one-off jumpers, wearing 4 different jumpers in 4 weeks is probably more common than you think.

Brisbane wore 4 different jumpers in rounds 2-5 last year:
v NM - Red Away
v Rich - Home
v WCE - ANZAC
v GCS - White Clash

I'm sure there is more examples. For some reason I feel like one team wore 5 different jumpers in 5 weeks in the last couple of years, but I can't find it if it did happen.

Expect it to happen more this year too...

West Coast in rounds 8-11:
v StK - Home
v Port - Royal Away
v GCS - Indigenous
v WB - White Clash

West Coast again in rounds 20-23:
v Freo - White Clash
v GWS - Royal Away
v Haw - Home
v Adel - Yellow Peril

Adelaide could possibly do it in rounds 7-10:
v WB - Gold Clash (I expect it will be the white though)
v Geel - Home
v GCS - White Clash
v GWS - Indigenous

I'm going through the information I have for 2014, and I found that Carlton did six, and Brisbane did seven.

Carlton
R5 - Western Bulldogs (A) - Names/ White
R6 - West Coast Eagles (H) - Home / Navy
R7 - Collingwood (H) - Heritage / Navy (1933-1997 monogram)
R8 - St. Kilda (A) - Clash / White
R9 - Bye
R10 - Adelaide Crows (H) - Members / Navy
R11 - Brisbane Lions (A) - Indigenous / White

Brisbane
R5 - Richmond (H) - Names/ Maroon
R6 - St. Kilda (A) - NZ Jumper / White
R7 - Sydney Swans (H) - Home / Maroon
R8 - Essendon (H) - Heritage / Maroon
R9 - North Melbourne (A) Melbourne / White
R10 - Bye
R11 - Carlton (H) - Indigenous / Maroon
R12 - Western Bulldogs (A) - Clash / White

If I can find my spreadsheet for the 2013 season, I'll try to find something that beats this.

That's pretty amazing! Thanks for that

Good find. Though, if by "numbers" you mean the jumpers with the surnames on the back, I wouldn't count those. They were still the normal designs really. It would be akin to counting Collingwood's black jumpers with "home" and "away" sponsor arrangement as a two different jumpers, but I don't really think thats what we're discussing here.

Still, 5 for Carlton and 6 for Brisbane is a huge amount!

Ninja edit :)

I would be interested to see what number Sydney and Gold Coast could get up to, seeing as though they rarely wear their clash jumpers.

North will complete the 4-peat between rounds 10-13 this year.

Round 10 vs Syd - Indigenous
Round 11 vs Rich - White
Round 12 vs Geel - Royal clash
Round 13 vs Haw - '96 jumper

Poppies on the number is overkill.

That's a massively long tramp stamp. I don't see the need for anything to be that low on the back of the jumper.

But at least they got the positioning of the "Lest We Forget" correct, unlike Melbourne.

We haven't seen the front before, so why would you only post the back?
Closer picture...

"In tribute to the Australian Armed Forces and our fallen armed personnel, the @brisbanelions' ANZAC Guernsey is an evolution of the Club's current clash design, emblazoned with ‘Lest We Forget’ along the back, and featuring the Australian Army Rising Sun and 7th Brigade logos on the front, set against a maroon poppy pattern and camouflage background.
Proceeds from all ANZAC Guernseys sold directly support ‘Wounded Heroes’."

Looks better with the stroke on the lions and lack of stroke on the funnel! :thumbsu:

Posted in the Round 4 thread. Keep up Fizz. ;)
