I can't believe that no-one has Sabbath Bloody Sabbath as their theme song.

Need an old time metal-head in the team badly.

Paranoid :thumbsu:

"I CAN'T HEAR YOU BRISBANE!!!!!!!!"

To which the thought bubble in my head invariably is:

"If you just shut the f*** up for a while, maybe you could"

I get email surveys from the club now and then about match day experience which somewhere or another asks me what would make it better.

I keep telling them to can the screaming banshee, or at least turn her down to under 50,000 decibels.

I find it insulting that they think we are such numpties that they think it necessary to employ Basketball style Crowd motivators.

Don't be too harsh on the presenters, they are just doing their job. I just think we need to reevaluate whether screaming at people is adding to the match day experience

Sometimes I just want to chill at the ground and feel the atmosphere build and all the screaming is pretty annoying.

I sound like a cranky old person but the best prematch of all time was the 2019 final against Richmond where the sound system broke. I know I bring this up all the time but it was amazing.

Yes that was just fantastic.

We ended up losing that game convincingly but the pre-match without all the manufactured hype and bullshit was spine-chilling stuff. The crowd made it's own atmosphere

That was and will always be my template for a big game.

If only the "authorities" would just have a bit more faith in we, the fans of the game.

They knocked that out as a filler to their second album in about 10 minutes.

Then the producer or someone told them it was genius so they went with that as the album title instead of "War Pigs"

Or so I've heard

A common enough story to think there is an element of truth to it. Not that Ozzy would remember.

Once you had Black Sabbath and Paranoid, you never needed another heavy metal record, because no one ever came close. Just my opinion.

Do they do this shit at the MCG?

It is a hard gig to get right in a cauldron of noise. I think Josie strikes the best balance of any matchday MC we've had.

Unless we can get Michael Buffer on permanent retainer then our current matchday MCs really don't bother me in the slightest.

I probably sound like an old guy too but the tension when the players ran out to the roar of the crowd and the toss and the build up to the first bounce , WITHOUT ANYONE SCREECHING INTO A MIKE TELLING YOU WHAT YOU SHOULD BE DOING , and without any of the marketing BS at all , was electrifying.

That's all gone now .Marketers conduct their own surveys to keep themselves getting paid and pretend fans need all this crap.

Daniher - Let it go - Frozen
Bailey - Disturbia by Rhinana
Ah Chee - Teen Spirit - Nirvana
Neale - Run the Road - Santigold
Cameron - Country Road -John Denver
Lyons - You make my dreams - Daryl Hall

Some off my head
Cockatoo is mysterious girl. Peter Andre I believe.

Dan McStay Money can't buy me love Beatles

Lachie Neale Never never gonna give you up Rick Antsley

Mitch Robinson Wrecking Ball Miley Cyrus

Eric Hipwood Rehab Amy Winehouse

Daniel Rich Forever Young Bob Dylan

Joe Daniher If Not For You Bob Dylan He also wrote a song called Joey but a bit too obvious hey.

Then when Joey kicks the winning goal It's all over now Baby Blue

Kai Lohman Smells like Teen Spirit Nirvana.

If Darcy Gardiner ever kicks a goal has to be Imagine John Lennon or One U2 or maybe God only Knows Beach Boys.

This is doing my head so better stop there

Just watched the second half on replay - jeeze we got f’ed by some umpiring howlers in the fourth. Two goals gifted due to incorrectly paid frees (the Andrews 50 and the Dizzy no attempt call despite his arms being wrapped up and the umpire acknowledging he had no prior) and a woeful advantage call against Ah Chee despite it being no advantage and Ah Chee being corralled by a Pies player (was clear neither player heard the HTB call). Three big umpiring blunders that - if the game were a few goals closer) could have been the difference between 4 points. Absolutely shocking.
Question without notice, do you know that the players decide whether or not they take advantage and that the umpire only calls it after it’s been taken ?

Oh and I agree about Dizzy, umpire stated no prior, so if that’s the case, what is he being pinged for ?
other than that, it’s the perfect tackle.
The Andrews 50 for arms out, yes there were others over the weekend that were not paid, maybe it stood out more to the umpire, as he was standing the mark. This is not making excuses for those that were missed, merely a thought

Wish one of them would pick this

What we saw during this round was farcical.

Ump 12 suddenly decides to pull an abuse penalty out of his rectum late in the game against Collingwood (after it was previously not being penalised . . even earlier in that same game). AFL HQ subsequently double down on the penalty, telling the media it was the correct call. Well, of course! They said they were going to penalise it at the start of the season . . . what choice did they have other than looking like absolute dills? So that just confirms that hundreds of other calls to not penalise this over rounds 1-5 and through most of the games of round 6 have been wrong. Even then, the Umpires continue to not read the room and fail to consistently penalise this infringement through Friday/Sat/Sun (outlier being Clayton Oliver). Someone then clearly puts a bomb under them prior to the Hawks/Geelong match and, finally, they start to consistently penalise it.

Crazy incompetent.

And for clarity, I'm not specifically for or against this rule, I'm just for consistency.

Although I do think it is a stretch to define abuse as a player putting their arms out - but that is what ump 12 said, so . . . . he is the dill that painted them into that particular corner . . . and now we are going to be stuck with it (for a round or two at least until they think it has been long enough that everyone has forgotten about it).

Played this on the acoustic on the weekend around the campsite.
Mid intro ( best part of the song), someone yells out to me do I want a bun or something , sheesh,
It, it wasn't even a chocolate hot cross bun , bloody standard.

Absolutely, but if both the Lions player and Pies player don't hear HTB and the Pies player runs at said Lions player to tackle him, then it is a bad advantage call because there was simply no advantage.

Yeah it was an ugly win, and a win is a win; but if we (Zorko and Robinson, in particular; the latter an expert at it) continue to just smack it on the boot and hope for the best teams like Melbourne are going to lap it up. It doesn't happen once or twice a game, it happens frequently. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't, but wouldn't want to be tossing that coin and hoping for tails when it comes to the business end of the season.
You can add Answerth in there as well.
For this reason when Kiddy comes back in and settles in we have one more player looking for a target before putting it on the boot.
I think he can do this because he can get immediate separation from an opposition player in the first couple of steps which then gives him breathing space.
He is class down back ,connecting the backs with the mids.
Also we are missing Dev's pressure around the ball this year, a little less pressure on those wings atm.
You only need a couple of changes in certain areas and we play differently, kind of an obvious statement I know , but he is a worker and a busy bee , get him back on and that pressure goes up and players like Daicos find it a little harder.
