I’m not sacking him by any means but he was sacked for a reason. Maybe that was part of it. Maybe it wasn’t. I know nothing after 10 vb’s

He was sacked because Carlton thought they were on the cusp and wanted to grab “wundercoach” Malthouse.
I don’t believe it was anything to do with how he was coaching at the time - a lot of Carlton people were horrified at the move.

Thanks for posting, I went to your profile and gave him a 5 pointer - banned for two weeks.

Happy to hand him out more too, if anyone has received a message from him let me know.

Can you ban me from watching the saints?

The problem with all that is why did it start so early and why did we finish so well
Somebody told them it was a good idea to tug on a joint and just go wave watching in between!
I blame you Plugger!
You and your delicious dim Sims!
Have a good long hard look at yourself man!

That was such an embarrassing way to lose a game.

We just checked out and expected that we would roll on from the first quarter for an easy win. Players weren't running hard anymore, were trying to be too cute with the ball instead of taking the easy option and everyone just crumbled once Freo got any momentum.

Thats the worst game Marshall has ever played. He fumbled everything. Hill is just the invisible man. Ross looked slow today. Jones kick into the corridor in the last quarter was an absolute killer.

Gresh was frustrating with so many bad kicks but I will credit him because it felt like he was trying to put the whole team on his back to win the game.

King could have kicked a bag but he seemed very weak in the core today. Every marking contest, he seemed to fold in half and hunched his shoulders which caused him to fumble rather than standing up strong and backing himself in the contest. Once he gets some size, he will be able to demand space more but it was just something he hadn't been doing in any other game.

I have been liking what Marsh brings up forward but he was starting in the middle a lot in the 2nd half, and 3 disposals for the game isnt good enough for someone getting that much midfield time. I think he should either play forward or not at all.

I hope Ratts made them watch the last 3 quarters on the bus back to Noosa.

Why are sides able to get such a roll on against us? Been an issue for years.

I saw their response in round 1 against Norf. Against Collingwood. In the Good Friday. I saw their response in the two Anzac Day games we had. The teams response in that game against Port a few years ago where they beat us with 30 seconds on the clock, I saw their response then.

Time and time again, the team fails when its due to stand up. It always does it after the media talks us up or we're in a prime time position. Always.
Will do a proper write up when I have calmed down, but this hit the nail on the head for me.

When things started to go bad we really really really missed Hanners. We had 0 on-field leadership today.

When anyone asks why we gave Hanners a 5 year contract, play them the second half of that game

Ratts has said before that changing gears is a real sore point for the squad and that was shown today.

First qtr was very man on and we played our game and carved them up.

After qtr time Freo flooded back, planning to use their numbers in defence to run the ball forward. We needed to slow down and draw them out. Pass the ball patiently across the ground and wait for an option.

Unfortunately we kept running into a wall and then started panic bombing to outnumber situations because the 'plan' wasn't working.

Learning how to slow down and kill the clock with these leads is going to be a big step in our development. Fingers crossed Ratts, Lade and Roughy can get us there.

Next thing you will tell me is I have to watch them with no dimmies or vb’s. Life would be over
You have to swallow a dimmie whole and scull a beer everytime we put a team away. I'd be doing you a favour, you'd be 30 pounds lighter and sober as a judge.
