Autopsy Round 6, 2020: Fremantle v St.Kilda

Once again it’s the midfield that just disappears. We’ve done fairly well considering how poor we are in this area.

Saw a lot of Webster for Long talk but that’s not going to take us anywhere. We know Webster isn’t going to take us where we want to go, this might be the only chance we get to bring in Byrnes or Bytel to have a look at them. Until we address our weakest area we’ll show good signs but it won’t be enough for a flag.

Yep we have known this for at 3 years now, actually believe we need to bite the bullet at bring actual mids.

Looking good for one quarter means jack s..t when we can then look like crap for the next 3.

I crave for consistency.

I hope Ratts gave our players a bake after the game but it would be tough giving the players a bake and then going back to the hotel with them on the bus.

Back in the old days the coach would give the players a bake after the game and then they wouldn't see them again until Monday after the air had cleared.

We are missing Hannebery. For his leadership and grunt inside.

I thought we could get by without Hanners against Freo but we really missed his leadership and poise through the midfield, had he played we would've won.

Hopefully we get him back for Adelaide.

I hate this friggen football club.

Pathetic gutless pissweak peahearts.
Nah don't think so.
Just a real quick post match melt. Calmed down a bit now haha
Too early to have calmed down after a game like that imo.
What a bunch of soft Kuntz that played like a bunch of soft Kuntz against a team of soft Kuntz

Jeez, Roo agrees with King that Longy could get around 4 weeks 😳
I’m off to read the Covid thread on Twitter to cheer me up a little...

Is Longy the new Baker? 4 weeks for that would be way over the top.

A week or two for that at the most, Longy doesn't have the priors that Baker had, if he cops 4 weeks we need to get Winmar's lawyers in and play the race card.

There was a complete breakdown in that last Freo goal. Geary gets the kick forward from here

He then rolls forward to the below point and leaves Schultz sitting at half forward.

Either Geary has just ran forward irrationally hoping to impact, even though his chances of impacting the contest were very low or the mids have completely clocked off, leaving Brayshaw and Walters free. More likely the latter. Leaves Geary with two free men ahead of him so he's rolled up to pressure them.

That's three games this year the midfield have failed to do any damage against noff they went to sleep after half time Collingwood they did even play at all and today gee. The team is not going anywhere with this midfield it's time to make the calls ross needs to go. play the two kids. Gresham is a liability around the ground needs to go forward and stay there to work on that craft that part of his game has fallen away. Don't think Marsh is afl quality. These are the times when we will see if ratts is the coach for us it's time to make some big call as he said every one's position is up for grabs

Can blame us supporters at the game, we all gave the boys a standing ovation after quarter time. They must have thought the game was done after that point

Jokes aside that was a putrid display of football to lose that game with freos injuries.

We should be 5-1 but here we are 3-3, absolutely no excuse we are a shitshow

Will not be surprised when we hand the crows their first win of the year next week

How do they get 4 week?

It should be graded as Careless (which is the precedent for bumps), High impact and High contact. That's 2 weeks.

At worse, if they go intentional then it would be 3 weeks but bumps have always been graded as careless since you cant say he intentionally went out of his way to get him in the head. You also cant grade it was severe impact since Darcy wasnt knock unconscious.

Webster is the best half back replacement we have.
Why would we bring in an inside mid for a running half back?

It’s done on how they see it. He will get what it’s worth. It will be 2 or 3 based on that.

The Butler moment in the last is another one that will stick in the mind. It's all well and good to be unselfish, but not for the sake of it. He needed to nail that goal, rather than a pointless chip in the air to a contest.
Luckily that didn’t matter but that was brain dead stuff

But what if he broke his jaw.

How the hell do you lose two games where you're up by 30+ points in each, in shortened matches, with the other team being down to 2 on the bench in each!?

Staggeringly bad.

Especially in a season where almost every team who's gets out to an early lead goes on to win.
Doing it twice would suggest there is a problem. When the saints fall in a hole they have little to no leadership.

I don’t know
Looks also like he’s turning to protect himself against a big guy. Hopefully just 1. Problem is the impact.
