I'm glad they lost, hope it was a shit bus ride back to Noosa. I'd like to think that rather than being a close call that they got away with, they'll learn not to play like cowards and take their foot off the pedal after Quarter Time.

We should've been 10 goals up at HT. Freo eventually got enough momentum and on such a big roll there was nothing we could or were maybe just not willing to do. Should've then won it at the end and wasted a great opportunity going inside 50, and got caught out badly on the break.

Really? I wish they won or drew.

Ansett Cup > Wizard Wok

I reckon we would have won a Premiership Trophy if we had stuck with GT for the long haul beyond 2006 like Geelong stuck with Bomber Thompson.

Bomber was cooked on ice and still managed to win two Premiership Trophies with the Cats.

Well we kind of knew if we didn't bring our best we would lose and we did - hardly anyone had a good game - however I wouldn't slash and burn.
I'd bring in Bytel or Byrnes for Long and just regroup and give them another go next week before gutting the team.

No overlap run after QTR time and Freo tightened up behind the ball and we could not gain the initiative back. Maybe we should give Freo our crest. As we were given it for similar reasons all those years ago.

Key take aways. Like the Kangas game with Cunnington we could not get our hands on the ball from stoppages after qtr time. Was it me but we couldn't take a pack mark...we seemed to be infringed pushed under the ball a fair amount.

Seemed that the umps 50/50 decisions were against us in the second half. We seemed to have no space in the fwd 50 and our height differential had no impact.

Big lessons will be learned today. Cannot take a wounded undermanned team for granted...lack of leadership. Both team and individual. They ran harder and impacted the contest much more than we did. They wanted it..early on we did and then when it turned and got hard we did not have the stomache for the fight.

We really missed Hannas and we need an A grade mid. Ross is not it nor is Gresham need another hard nut Lenny type to join Steele and Jones.

Is it Bytel or Byrnes we are about to find out. Cannot keep the same team..
Long and Marsh (Battle Membrey and Marsh) only two can be in the side go out. We need to re-establish that overlap run off half back..so Hunter goes back on a flank.

We came back to earth with a massive thud...welcome to StKilda Ratts

But if someone cant perform in a non-officiated game where we are lending players to the opposition, then they probably shouldn't be playing seniors.
Well that makes it easy.

No changes then - great - looking forward to watching next week's passenger train.

That's a fair assumption. Lonie and Marsh were good when we were good and maybe they were holding position but it could be reasonable to swing the axe and bring in Parker and Hind or some other combo that might get the job done better.
I don’t know if Parker and Hind are the answers but they’re a little more dynamic that Lonie which makes me inclined to think they’d be better alternatives.

I mean you'd love to win every week but that doesn't happen - there has been a lot of noise and hype around the club lately which is great, but maybe that game will serve as a massive reality check that they are nothing yet.

If we had won there's every chance the same thing would happen next week and the pressure drops off when they start to get comfortable.

So years and years isn’t past. Now I’m confused.
I thought it was obvious what I was trying to say.

The problems we see now i.e. the current. Have been there for years.

The current personel are by the most part been there for years.

For example go through the list of coaches and how long they've been there. Go through the recruitment team. Go through the senior management. Go through the senior players.

Its not a new thing.

Really? I’d suggest that’s emotive rubbish. How many of those you mention have been there for years.

Where did I suggest no changes should be made at all?

Just advocating for bringing in players who are performing in the scratch matches over those who are still struggling at that lower level.

And from all reports, Parker is in that 2nd group.

You do realise hind played and was clearly worse than lonie and got dropped? Parker’s Fien means he shouldn’t even been considered
I thought Hind was pretty serviceable in his first game and then poor in his next game. Players are entitled to a bad game here and there, but it’s concerning when it becomes a trend ala Jack Lonie & Kent.
I also thought Hind was pretty good in his string of games in the back half of last year and showed he can add something to our 22.

Lonie is an average forward. Hind is less average as a forward
