Loved Jonas's game
Yep - he just plugs away and doesn't command the viewer's attention much, but racks up (mostly) effective disposals & spoils. Pity he did miss what would have been only his second goal in the AFL!

Let's not forget our lads were at Alberton at 5am this morning to make the flight up. Have played one game at home all year.

Could have been excused for not turning up or challenging this year instead are 5-1, clear on top.
The U18s and AIS teams do this sort of stuff ocasionally and its the recovery after the game that kills. Next week we will be flat.

I'm at work, so haven't seen any of the game yet.
Will watch when I get home.
I am pleased to see that with the game in the balance at 3QT, we managed to kick away and win the game.

The AFL app had Sutcliffe as 'out and Motlop as 'injured'.
What happened to them?

TIL:

Shoving a player's head into the turf is fine.

Even after the umpire calls play on, you can't step over the mark that no longer exists.

It doesn't matter if the play has stopped, if you run with enough intent the umpire will give you advantage anyway.

Umpires have no ****ing clue with the holding the ball decisions, no funny quip it's genuinely all over the shop.

Sutcliffe did his hamstring and Motlop came off second best in a collision with Farrell, possible concussion.

I thought our players had run out of legs during the fourth as GWS seemed to be getting men out the back. When they chained their handballs together through the middle, they cut us up. To our credit we got our hands on the ball first and denied them the chance from then on.

The goal by Farrell was hugely important considering the balance of the game. Gave us that little bit of breathing space we desperately needed.

To think Cameron turned down coaching Port for the GWS role. If we swapped coaches, I'm not convinced we would be doing any better. Not convinced he will ever make the most of their list.

Dunno if it was the game plan or not but too many times Marshall or Westhoff were getting in Dixons way. Considering they made the change for the fourth, you would have to hope they adjust that from next week onwards.

Head knock in the last to Motlop

Sutcliffe did a hamstring

Football like all ball sports is about time and space.

Don't know if it was the early morning wake up and flight up to the GC but we forgot that for 3 quarters.

In the last quarter we made space inside our forward 50 and we took marks and kicked goals and points.

Even when we stuffed up, our leading players got into space. Twice Robbie was in prime position but shitty kicks over his head saw turn overs, but he found beautiful space. Even Marshall when he did that dopey little pass to Butters and stuffed up, both players found plenty of space.

I don't know if it was Bassett or Monty or Ken that told Westhoff to piss off and play CHB but it was a match winning move - not because Westhoff dominated - but because it opened up the space.

Well done one of the better wins when expectations were high before the game and we didn't choke when the heat was on in the last quarter.

Farrell's break out game. SPP won the clearances and was the match winner in the last quarter and Houston back in the guts was a key in the first half and even 3rd quarter for us to be in the game.
