Review Round 6, 2020 vs GWS

Thought the first three quarters were a dour grind. We were well in the contest but just kept bombing the ball forward and watching GWS walk the ball out with ease in various different ways. For most of the third quarter, GWS were annihilating us - but they couldn't put it on the scoreboard, which kept us in the match. Dixon's goal after the three quarter time siren was really important in setting the platform for what happened after the break.

The last quarter was incredible. It was 2014 like in that some invisible switch seemed to flick and we went from fumbly and hesitant to running all over the top of them in waves.

Farrell was fantastic. Best game for the club.

SPP a monster all day. Needs to play like that every week.

Houston back in the middle worked a treat. Just feel so comfortable with the ball in his hands, both by hand and foot.

Jonas was great in defence. Quietly putting together an AA standard season.

Hartlett also huge in defence.

Great win.

Would be a loss with the small fleet forward line lead by Sam Gray last year

Wish McKenzie goaled from outside 50 (after Farrell's 50+ goal) would've been so demoralising for GWS

Actually kicking those long bomb goals over the flood is so important because if you do it regularly enough teams start to pull out of their zone because they're worried about it and holes will appear in the F50. It would be a great string to add to our bow.

Hinkley in the middle of the song. LOL
Wasn't he made a life member of the AFL think that was the reason.

Ugly hard fought win we just didn't get the bounce of the ball to often but hung in there. Really happy for Faz, SPP grunt factor AND stamina very impressive

glad he snuck that goal in too. Long day for our boys on the bus from Alberton at 5:30 big effort we should all be rapt.

Premiership table looks great at both ends.

KH: It was a bit of a shock when the alarm went off at 4:30am this morning. But we've embraced the challenge - as a whole club - of whatever this year throws at us
KH: We are a good team. Good teams respond. It's a significant step for us. We are on top of the ladder and we deserve to be there.
KH: Kane Farrell is a great story for us today. Early in his career to step up in a big moment and kick a big goal. He is an elite kick
KH: I thought we were the better team for the most part today. Credit to GWS, they had a strong third quarter. But I thought we were the better team

lol @ McKenzie desperately trying to get long bomb bragging rights back late in the game, spraying one and having another smothered, after this:

GWS won’t win a flag until they get a decent ruck. You can have all the A-grade midfielders you like, but unless they get first use, they will always be on the back foot.

Lycett and Westhoff dominated in the ruck, resulting in a 12-4 centre clearance. A bit more even around the ground but first use of the footy is still important.

Mumford is cooked, Jacobs isn’t much better.

We need to drop Westhoff for Georgiadas.
Haven't watched the replay so will stand corrected but Hoff in ruck was a net loss. Ladhams is someone we need to feel welcome.

Has the agility height and hunger to make it. Decent kick too in his own way. When Slyce was off we struggled.

As for Georgi Boy he's 1 performance away from being in our best 22. He could set the comp alight. Got high hopes for Bergman Williams Mead and Burgoyne
