Good game from williams today but hes playing against someone whos only played 3 games.

Right so he’s actually playing against some one with similar experience as opposed to mature rucks and dominates?

That ruckman with 3 games is still older than Bailey, who should we measure him against?

I mean back up to this extent he showed today. He had a game like this v Geelong last year. Need more like this.

Of course but it's unlikely and probably unrealistic to expect a ruckman of his age to do that week in week out. I think he has strung a few good games.in a row together but I'm not expecting a 22-23 yo ruck to have consecutive dominant games , especially if he is carrying 90% rucking duties
.He will have a few of these games and then some quieter games but on this trajectory, he is looking very promising. Don't jump on his back if he gets a bath next week, it is probably the more likely scenario.

Yeah that's the other point, he is pushing through injury to carry the ruck and doing a damn fine job. I expect it has to catch up with him soon.

We have never really played 4 great quarters anyway, even 2018 and other flag years. No one has

But the difference is when a team is bad their bad qtrs are really bad but when they're up n flying our good qtrs blow teams away so our bad qtrs aren't as an impact

Positives
We are now building on some decent drafting & trading (Kelly, yes Kelly, and Hunt).
It will take a few seasons to move on many players and reeplace them with quality but we are heading in the right direction.
Our game plan is good - execution isnt.
Our full strength team would have won.
Some rewal sacrifice for the team by Kelly, Darling and Gaff

Negatives
We will not see much of our many in our best 22 in coming years.
We have lot to move on - those that may get a kick and look ok but they dont have the instinctive ability to play the modern fast moving game. In the end that destroy the game plan.

If Bailey can start playing similar games against the bigger and older rucks he may just extend Nic Nats career. Play Nic predominantly out of the goal square as a get out of jail free kick and bombing in option and just tell him to not leave the 50m. Maybe just like 25% time in ruck and rest forward. Oscar and Darling get a little chop out with key defender going to Nic.

As a body on body option nic at his size would be hard to take on. He can mark, although doesn't do it much as a ruck and his set shot from memory isn't too bad. As a majority fwd he wouldn't do as many kms and jump as much hopefully helping with injury issues. He can also continue to teach Bailey on field as he phases out.

Was having this discussion with my port supporting mate during the match. I doubt we produce anything better than what this bloke brings with those picks..At least the recipients of them didn t anyway.
He is in AA calcs at the moment and would have to be close to top 10 Brownlow counts despite us only winning 1 game.

Negatives.

Another game whereby we have a total fade out in one quarter.
Umpiring.









This one I am not quite sure where to put it, so here is a s good a spot as any.

Nisbett you and the Club have had a whole year to come up with an ANZAC Day Jumper....... and what did we have ...... nothing.

Disrespectful, unprofessional and sub standard.

Not a good look from the Club, what can I say very disappointing but sadly not surprising.
