Can't help but think the yellow looks very mustard-y a la Tiges clash but it's better than the white at least.

My favourite match up- Collingwood at home to Carlton

Hawks in power ranger?
Eagles in white shorts at geelong?
Demons and Giants in full clash?

Pies vs Blues in that order is seriously the worst match-up in the AFL. I'd say it was even worse than when Essendon and Richmond just wore home jumpers against each other; at least there was a splash of colour on each.

I don't even think this would do a very good job given how white Collingwood's home jumper looks from the front nowadays:

Thy only way to maintain tradition in these matches (and I reckon the avenue that would be travelled down should these teams meet in a GF – maybe when we're all six feet under) is this match-up. With the Pies' white strip looking even more white now that the cuffs and collar are white too, I think it'd be a great visual spectacle and hark back to the days of old:

Now the Cats/Eagles clash, as far as I know West Coast have never worn full royal at K-Park. They have worn full royal against the Cats since the move to navy in 1995, but both on non-regular occasions; 2011 being the prelim final at the MCG and 2012 being the beautiful 1992 anniversary kit at Subi.

Even going right back to the early days, they always wore white shorts away to the Cats. I don't think there'd be a problem with the Cats in full home and West Coast in full royal like below, but even if that isn't preferable – it should only ever be the Cats in white shorts. They do it for other clubs when they travel down here, so why not West Coast?

RE: pies/blues though.. It really is the worst hey? Even more frustrating considering how good the match up was pre 2001.

And expect the cats to be in home shorts, I'd reckon. Brisbane and the Eagles seem exempt from the usual rule at KP.

All the more reason to play footy that day I feel. Or I just like watching the games with my mum.

Mother's day crowds have been notoriously poor and clubs continually complain when scheduled on, so the AFL have done the right thing by reducing the number of games on that day.

Carlton in clash would be as effective as Port in clash - they even both have the dark side-panels.
I've never seen any issue in that matchup and therefore would envisage it would be similar lack of issue if Carlton wore their clash jumper. Sure it looks even better the other way around but it's not a clash with Port/Carlton in white.

I didn't believe you, but last time Geelong hosted WCE...yep. White/Navy vs Royal/White in 2014.

The difference between Brisbane and WCE is the Eagles have royal shorts to match their away jumpers whereas Brisbane don't. The AFL have been much more consistent on this over the past 12 months so I'd say this is a 50/50 bet.

Wowee! Great stuff. This really is the first ever full royal at K Park – take a look back through AFL Photos and Youtube...

Quiet night?

I'm going to cry when Carlton run out in their Home jumper with white shorts :(

Why must they enforce the white shorts rule on North and Geelong but not Collingwood? It wouldn't be perfect contrast clearly but I reckon it'd do the job (just).

I'd go as far to say there'd be equal contrast with Collingwood in white shorts than Blues in full clash.

Big 4 rule.....
