Leggy, McInnes, Sullivan and Macrae to all stake their claim in Saturday arvo's VFL match.
Peter Mac Cup
The Peter Mac Cup is the longest running charity match in VFL/AFL history, with the first match held in 1993. Each year, traditional rivals Collingwood and Carlton come together to support important research at the Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre.
Cancer affects almost all of us in some way with more than 150,000 people diagnosed with cancer in Australia each year and one in two Australians will receive a cancer diagnosis of some kind by the age of 85.
Peter Mac provides world-class care to more than 40,000 people affected by cancer each year, combining care, compassion and the latest research. It is home to Australia’s largest cancer research group, with over 750 clinical and laboratory scientists dedicated to discovering new ways to prevent, treat and cure all types of cancer.
Moment silence for gender-based violence
After the coin toss, Collingwood and Carlton players, coaches, and AFL umpires will come together in the centre circle – arm in arm – to pay tribute to the women who have lost their lives to gender-based violence.
Sullivan to debut
Lachie Sullivan is set to make his AFL debut tonight. The two-time western Bulldogs’ VFL Best and Fairest was signed by Collingwood during the Pre-Season Supplementary Selection Period (SSP) earlier this year. The 26-year-old established himself as a key midfielder throughout his time in the VFL system. A member of the VFL Team of the Year in both 2022 and 2023, the 26-year-old averaged 30.9 disposals, 7.6 clearances and 5.9 tackles per game for the Bulldogs last year.
