The media, public, players and club officials in AFL are all increasingly confused by the rules and interpretation by the umpires in the AFL. Meanwhile the boas and standard at SANFL and WAFL for example is problematic.
The fact we have differing rules between leagues is a joke.
Isn't it time for the Rules of the Game Committe and even the umpiring governance to become independent of the various leagues and particularly the AFL? People elected to the board, ex players, umpires on the committee with leagues and clubs consulted.
Would allow more rational approach to rules tweaks and interpretations.
