Just re reading. Major ground of appeal when the prosecutor argued new evidence but didn't put the allegations to GL during cross as required to.do.
Depends what the allegations were but that will be the kicker of an appeal.

You don’t produce new evidence during cross examination. There’s due process of serving it first on defence who may seek to not have it admitted, in which case you’d go through a voir dire. If admitted, It would be introduced during evidence in chief from the prosecution and cross examined by defence.

It might have been that he considered the LL had left the gate to the pig pen open deliberately; given the vege garden appears to have been his domain according to this article. Quite often when relationships end under extremely acrimonious circumstances, there is a lot of tooing and froing with nastiness between the individuals concerned.

It's an act of extreme violence, cruelty and coercive control and it's reportable.

While searching for any information on the case from 4 May 2021, I came across this article:

I was intrigued by this quote from he first person to find the burnt out camp:

"A man given the pseudonym of Mick by the Herald Sun said he stumbled across the pair’s burnt-out tent and scorched white ute the week they went missing.

He reported the sighting to police but it wasn’t until detectives contacted him about the case that Mick said he remembered seeing a bright green crossbow arrow near the destroyed camping site."
I can't see that being particularly relevant - he found and cleaned up shotgun shells in the dark, he wouldn't have missed a bright green arrow. Then again, he didn't check RHs pockets for his phone...

I heard a suggestion that the jury wanted to convict on both but the lack of evidence for RH was a stumbling block. I don’t know how they determined that CC was killed deliberately, maybe from the recovered bullet with her DNA on it?

I didn't hear that he owned a cross bow. Apparently they have to be registered.

I've got to say here, I am now facinated as to Mrs Lynn's capacity to live comfortably with such a psychopath given the recent revelations on the police recordings and with the now suspicious knowledge that she did know more than 'nothing at all' of the incident at Wonnangatta.

First thoughts aren't always right but when I saw the restrainer Vic Police put over the family home and knowing Vic Police generally leave the wife and kids alone to try and pick up the pieces after they arrest someone for serious crime was, "ooh they don't like/trust her".

From photos taken at the Court and descriptions of her behaviour, she seems pretty nutty too.

Stretching my memory a bit here, but I have a feeling I saw something way back about how after the death of Lisa he was seeing a woman in South Australia (and maaaaaybe there was a possible child??), before later getting together with Melanie. Don’t take as gospel, but maybe apivapieah can clear that one up?

**Edit to add that I found the post I was thinking of on another forum, on 14 Dec 2021 Lisa’s daughter posted:

I don't really know much about anything after GL moved to Doha. So I can't speak on a wife over there or what may have happened.

He was with the lady after Lisa for approx 2 years I think. She was very upset when he left her and their daughter in SA and moved back to Vic. This is not the same lady he was with in Doha. I'm not sure if their relationship was strained but I would assume so as they had a baby together and then he left her.
I thought Lisa had two sons and no daughters. Did you misquote here or does this reveal wrong info?

He did have some weapons that weren't legal...so again, nothing would surprise me

Appears all of his firearms were registered. I think the Daily Fail incorrectly listed one of his rifles as a semi-automatic which it’s not.

Remember reading they found a suppressor which is prohibited along with any throwing stars etc. IIRC.

What an odd conversation to have with oneself, Gollum like.

To me that sounds like a bit of deluded fantasy talk, on the way up meaning he was looking to "harm' again, if he was that way inclined.

Fishers my have gotten a bit lucky.

I think at that stage the police strategy of applying immense psychological pressure was having the desired affect. They knew he was a self talker from the listening devices and that 60 minutes episode was the straw that broke the camel’s back.

Good police work if not as polished as it could’ve been.

She comes across just incredibly naive and not particularly intellectual. I read a mamamia article that she was interviewed for about travel tips and I found it very superficial. Maybe that was the aim, but it came across as very ditsy and vain.

No.

Lisa had a daughter with an undisclosed man
Then Lisa had 2 sons to Greg Lynn
Then Greg (according to Lisa’s daughter) had a daughter with a woman in SA
Then Greg had a son with Melanie.

Sad to think that not only the respective children of Russell and Carol have to live with the consequences of GL’s actions, but also collectively 5 more children, even though most of them are also adults now, have to deconstruct and reconcile their relationships/proximity to a man now convicted of murder.

Thanks for the clarrification Irma. Baddog has cleared it up already and I thought you wouldn't have got it wrong, you're too precise for that. Yes indeed, the damage wrought by this person has claimed many victims. It is tragic and for them very difficult.

Yes, it didn't really make much sense for him to be talking about trigger locks at that stage.

Edit: He was arrested in November 2021
Sale, in November. doesn't usually have bitterly cold spells spanning 3 days that would permiate a modern air conditioned building.

Might be different if he was interviewed in Bright or Mansfield though
