Last week he bagged 6 goals and today he bagged a lazy 7 straight. I know he's still a bit light build wise, but at the moment he has done very well in the WAFL and could almost warrant a game in the next few weeks. He took some good grabs one on one and was solid on the lead.

He kicked a cracker of a goal in the last quarter with a right foot banana from the boundary line. It's good to see the young blokes putting some pressure onto blokes like J.Lo and Waterhouse. From what I've seen of Murphy so far I'm really impressed.

Duffield was solid in the midfield, but Doswell was very disappointing.

I wouldn't be surprised if Woods and Browne are in the team tomorrow.

Ok... I watched the whole game and dont get me wrong, I believe Murphy is going to be a gun and obviously Smart saw something in him, but is he big enough to hold down Full Forward.

If you were to bring him into the team who would you drop? Medhurst?? Farmer?? T-Lo??. This is something fremantle supporters of old could only dream about, DEPTH!

It's pretty obvious that he would have a bit of filling out to do, but I just hope that we try and develop him into a forward, rather than throwing him into the backline to teach him about the game. Out of our forward line at the moment, Clive would be the one to make way. But like you say, it's a great thing that if we have any injuries in the forward line, it could be covered.

Anyone know how Campbell is going?

He is only 18 and could easily bulk up over the next off-season, he is the right hight for a FF too. If we brought him in when would you do it, an away game where he can get used to the difficulty of travel, or a home game just to ease him in to it. I just hope that Chris puts him up forward and leaves him there. Admittedly, I think that Polak had to played down back last year as the back line needed a tall marking player, but with Luke having a bit of a purple patch he will obviously be up forward more often now. What I am trying to say is that if he comes in I would hope he goes forward, as that is where we still need to improve.

I saw the game as well. Very impressed. Nice strong leads, good hands and leap. My opinion is that he'll need a year of filling out to grab a place in the team by Chris should give him a game or two this year so that he can get an idea of what its all about.

Oh... and play him forward. With his pace and athleticism (and looks like he may have a footy brain too) he would be a hard match up.

Murphy was very impressive. The fact that he kicked 7 straight on leads, man on man, contested pack marks and from the boundary made it all the more better to see. Definitely hit a purple patch atm.

To be honest I thought Duffield was average today. He only really came into the game when the game was won and got some cheap possession running free across HBF.

Doswell should really be delisted at the end of 2004. Not much more I can say there I am afraid. Siegert looked a little lazy and playing for himself versus the team.

On a side note, Bootsma had 39 possessions and was clearly B.O.G and the SF colts won 30.9 (189) to 5.11 (41). Some good kids coming through again.

Came across from East Fremantle therefore making him an incredibly intelligent person. 1983 DOB and very fit. Looks like a kid that can run all day.

Murphy Played in some practice games didn't he? struggled against the bigger stronger bodies.

yeah, id like to see him developed as a key forward, considering the dearth of quality big men we have to cover the backline. it would be great to have an actual real bonifide full forward for medders and farmer to crumb around.
