Brad Scott press conference
Sad Bad Day GIF by Laff

Constantly taking breaths, just the pouty face and woe is us, we were trash...
Not one word commenting on how well we played. All we were bad, nothing mentioning that we did not let them play how they want.

Seems to be blaming it all on his team not trying hard enough.
Good one Brad, that won't lose your playing group.

Yeah, but we already knew that.
So we just expect it.
😂

Yeah I know that but how long is he signed up for, we need to lock him away long term as the offers will be coming.

He used to be our best kept secret but he isn't a secret anymore. he will be getting attention on and off the field.

I keep comparing him to Winmar as he's got the same number, he's different to Nicky but like Nicky he can do magic.

Hopefully the past fortnight will silence the doubters over Ross Lyon and the game plan he has implemented. Anyone with a clue wouldn't have had any doubt over the game plan, but for the casuals, the skills are finally starting to click which pulls together the forward half scoring to complement the defensive 50 scoring we were already elite at. Goals from centre bounce clearances are also improving with some continuity in our midfield - we smashed a midfield consisting of Merrett, Parish, Caldwell, Stringer - and more than doubled their scores from stoppages

Lyon is a gun coach.

People forget last year. He got us into the finals. A magnificent coaching performance.

We are better now. Younger. But better.

Caminiti and Sharman both turned the corner today.

Best team effort of the season, but we still need to do work on clearances, still a bit slow in the middle. Possibly the most balanced team we have put on the ground. Caminiti plays with a lot of self-confidence and Coops is a natural footballer who is best left to play his own way. Impressed with the unsung players in Byrnes, Bonner and Jones -they played good footy. Mind you, we are still down the ladder and played a crappy brand of football for much of the season, and I think Lyon had to look at himself and work out a better way, and adapt to today's brand of footy. I hope we have a real crack at the remaining games.

Brad Scott has a bit of FIGJAM about him. He was quite keen to call out AFL a few weeks ago when letting the world know they had privately conceded umpiring errors after the cats game.

Job over the summer is to develop King into the Joe Daniher role. We seem to win more games without King than with him, which is so StKilda.

We will not win finals without him as a forward but we cannot seem to win games consistently during home and away. That is post Season Conundrum 1.

Need to improve our mid field rotations is pre Season Conundrum 2.

RL thinks we might have broken our record of scores from stoppage.

Our highest centre clearances were Steele, Marshall, Clark and Sinclair.
Our total clearances were Marshall, Steele , and Clark.
Our contested possessions were Steele, Marshall, and Clark.

Incredibly pleasing performance. Everyone played their part. If anything, Brad Hill was our ‘worst’ player statistically.

With a handful of games to go, there’s a real chance that we could win 10 games this season, which is quite impressive for a year that many have seen as a complete failure.

Yes, we still have holes, but games like today showed that we are fortunate to have a real promising crop of youngsters. Hope the Pou can come in next week and we can build some real momentum going into next season.

Not the exact quote.

But the Boss also said that the difference between us and the sides at the top of the quality of our midfield

Agree, we’ve been able to make improvements across most key metrics as the year has wore on, whether it be small or large. The one we’ve probably been unable to crack is the clearance work, scores from stoppage and centre bounces.

That probably says we’re kidding ourselves with this list until we get some quality in there, that said I think we can jump quickly with some astute recruitment and drafting this off season, particularly with kids already coming on.

As soon as Clark stops being soo freaking lazy with his kicking he'll go to another level. Just way too many unforced turnovers when we are on the counter attack. It'll cost us a game one day. Gotta get rid of it before that day comes
