Mid/Fwd which we have plenty of for a Mid/Wing which we lack.
He's been putting up some huge numbers in the VFL, including averaging over 40 touches in his three finals last year.
He also had some big games in finals in the NAB cup year too which is a good sign.
Could be a great pick up wherever he ends up.

What Flanders done to you?
Can see him and others being moved on for picks, need some more currency to pay for our academy kids this year, especially if we want to trade our first pick out.

Can go into deficit if need be to match, or just trade picks from next year. There are options without trading players.
I doubt they'd want to let their first round selection go into deficit next year.
Makes sense to move someone like Flanders on if he's not playing senior footy.

Brisbane did creative trades to get fletcher and ashcroft without trading players out..i think gc can do the same by shuffling picks.
Daniel McStay did leave via FA and that pick was used in those dealings.
You've also got to consider list spots and salary cap. Ill be surprised if they arent happy to trade one or two out.

Mcstay only got them p35. Most of their other currency was generated by downgrading their picks. Gc should be able to do similar. Eg split p7 for 2 late r1s, then trade one of those picks for r2s and so on, in so doing accrue the points needed.
Their list size should be due to go down in size soon shouldn't it?

OOC and on track for only playing a handful of games this year... but nevertheless a high draft pick with talent who's spent several years in the system.

I think he would just be happy to play.
Unfortunately some young kid called Bailey Humphrey is playing sorta alright, so not much room for Sam.
For some reason I could imagine him going to St Kilda (haven't heard anything, just a feeling they will make a play for him)

But Flanders can't play as a pressure forward. He needs midfield minutes and he won't get them at us.

Theres room for him to get midfield minutes though most sides run at least 6 to 8 guys through the mids.
But from what i see from afar dew seems inflexible and wants to basically play rowell anderson miller for 90 % of the midfield minutes and not really run other guys through there.
If you know a guy on your list has A grade attributes and is every chance to be that good sometimes you just have to be flexible with your structure in order to give him games.

Where does he play the rest of the game? Because he isn't good enough up forward, he isn't quick enough or skilled enough to play on a wing. He is going to need a team that can give him all midfield minutes and that's not us. I also don't think he has A grade attributes.

West Coast imo would be mad not to try guys like him and Dow. He wouldn’t cost a lot but has some top shelf traits.
I think there would a lot more interest than just West Coast.
