It would be his management meeting with them, which is perfectly fine, need to sound things out before taking actionI wouldn't think so, that would be highly unethical.

That's still a little unethical for me but I get it.It would be his management meeting with them, which is perfectly fine, need to sound things out before taking action
It's going to be a sh1tshow.Got no doubt it's happened before, and will happen again, esp once the mid season trade period is introduced.
So GC are getting a couple of 4th round picks for Flanders?Gold Coast need points for next year's draft.
I wonder if Flanders to Hawthorn, Tyler Brockman to West Coast and maybe the Eagles and Hawks send Gold Coast a couple of token 4th round picks works for everyone!
You really couldn't actually have a proper trade period in the time allotted of they didn't have early engagementsThat's still a little unethical for me but I get it.
So GC are getting a couple of 4th round picks for Flanders?
How does that work for them?
Yes, but we are talking about a measly 300 odd points if they are decent 4th round picks. They need points for next season's draft, they have at least 3 Gun Academy kids that will be bid on.
GraphicYes, but we are talking about a measly 300 odd points if they are decent 4th round picks.
At the very least Flanders is worth an early to mid 2nd round pick which values him around 700-900 points.
GC getting rammed up the anus with the one.
How does it work for Hawthorn? Brockman would be a number one priority re-signing.So GC are getting a couple of 4th round picks for Flanders?

When was the last time the PSD was used. Carlton used it to get Martin but even then they first attempted to negotiate a deal.Eagles (reportedly) have offered him an offer to good to turn down.
They would have the Hawks by the short hairs given their psd card, so assuming Flanders is going to Hawthorn, it's better for the Hawks to try get Gold Coast in on this deal somehow.
with some players it has to be done almost 18 months out to prepare for Sal Cap impact. I doubt thats an issue with Flanders thoughThat's still a little unethical for me but I get it.
Adelaide used it with HateleyWhen was the last time the PSD was used. Carlton used it to get Martin but even then they first attempted to negotiate a deal.
I'm not sure how Flanders gets connected to any deal regarding Brockman.

No idea if he leaves or not especially now waiting for a new coach but I was always surprised in his interviews how highly he talked about the team, club. He seemed genuinely committed to the cause. With Flanders now getting a game and performing well (meaning I doubt he'll lose his spot again) and Gold Coast having a new coach, I think the likelihood of him leaving has reduced.
Still a chance I'm sure but surely was more likely when he was playing well and not getting a go rather than getting games, midfield time and a new coach who will sell the vision of the future at the GC.
Shame (if true) as I was keen as a Hawks supporter. If he does choose to leave, he is increasing his trade price with good performances at AFL level that i suspect will be maintained for the rest of the year.

No idea. But yes, there will be some competition for spots. Davies is another one.If he is committed ..any idea if there is an offer on the table from GC?
You will have another ripper coming in thru academy in the draft with Rogers .. and it would not surprise if a coach with a reputation brought in some mature players. Its not going to be easy to hold a spot.
Gold Coast need points for next year's draft.

Without Flanders in the mix, I gave this 3 way trade earlier. Suns gain points(depending on finish), reduce picks + improve 1st pick next yr to get ahead of High Academy bids.Gold Coast need points but I wonder how many players they will delist.
They have around 8 picks that give them points atm. something like 28,29,43,48,56,61,66,69... and I believe they need a list spot for every pick they use
I think they'll be able to do better than that - they'll be getting offers from every side in the league.Without Flanders in the mix, I gave this 3 way trade earlier. Suns gain points(depending on finish), reduce picks + improve 1st pick next yr to get ahead of High Academy bids.
Hawthorn in: Gold Coast 1st(6-11),45, 63
Hawthorn out: Hawthorn future 1st, 32
Gold Coast in: Hawthorn future 1st, Sydney picks 25, 32, 41,44
Gold Coast out: Gold Coast 1st(6-11), 45, 63, 68, 70,
Sydney in: Gold Coast future 1st, 68, 70
Sydney out: Sydney picks 25, 41, 44
Nope, all offers either offset the points or swap just a team's future for Suns first pickI think they'll be able to do better than that - they'll be getting offers from every side in the league.
