Omitting Jonas, moving Bergman back and DBJ forward are crazier (in terms of the conservative Hinkley) selections than giving Hayes a game, especially when our rucks have been so trash. Its weird.
I hope Hayes keeps it going because you never know what happens.

We have one ruck who is playing decently but is old and injured.

You never know when your number is called.

Given selections this year, stranger things have happened.

I’m not really sure what the big fella’s meant to do. The last couple of weeks he’s shown he has a bit of campaigner in him as well.
Today was the first time I've watched him live since his time in the AFL side last year. I just cannot see where the 'he has no tank' talk actually comes from. He had as much of a tank as any other big man out there today. Was easily the best tall on the ground in Q4 specifically.

Running laps and running on a field during game play, he can’t run laps, maybe mentally just can’t break the monotony of it. However throughout the game he seems, to the eye, to be ‘fit’

Whatever anyone's argument about anything of him not being up to it is void, when Teakle was getting gifted AFL games.

Agree, Lycett goes down late in the year or in the finals we need to have somebody who can win a centre bounce tap, Hayes can do (or break even at least) that not sure Visentini can. We cant expose Dixon in the ruck full time, lord cant ruck and finalyson will get destroyed by the top liners.

Id even give consideration to resting Lycett and playing hayes to get him up to speed.

Last thing we need is to be a real chance heading onto finals and be derailed by a Lycett injury (which is a possibility)

Would have been a pretty decent game from Hayes until he completely stuffed up his last kick (after a mark) under zero pressure direct to the Eagles player that cost us the match - probably could have executed the simple kick better if was not suffering from emphysema.

You know they will just rotate Finlayson, Dixon, Lord.... if Lycett gets injured. Bookmark it.

With Dixon playing on one leg, we would be stupid not to give Sam a couple of games before finals, if Lycett goes down or needs a rest.

We have seen what Teakle has got, and its not finals footy stuff. Just give Sam a taste of AFL footy as insurance for September, if we rack up injuries from mid to late August and in September.

Also get pick 55 instead of 59.

Playing in the pig sty slop that is The Parade when there's a light sprinkle will prove a difficult challenge for Sam tomorrow. That'll buy Ken another month of not playing him.

Surface at the Parade is much improved now with the AFL games it was gifted.
