S21R7 Baghdad Bandits 14.7 (91) lost to Dragons FFC 20.10 (130)

Preview:
The big match of this week as first takes on fourth as the Bombers are continuing their freshmen day trip to the enigmatic Dragon Island. Freshmen should be well advised that even though the conditions on the island seem like an absolute paradise in comparison to the hellhole that is Abdu Prison, under no circumstances should they drop their playing standards. Maybe the conditions will provide better posting standards.

Contrary to one’s belief, it looks like you can things with youth, and unlike the AFL counterpart, replacing virtually the whole list seems to be a breath of well needed fresh air. Wonder Twins Tony Lynn 15 and TheCoach16 being the bright lights in this new regime, as the two of them have gone strength-to-strength against the big names of the league. burningdwarf has also received plenty of this fresh air to feed his starving fire, leaving opponents for dead in his play in more ways than one. It seems like good times ahead, expect for their opponents, who seem to be driven crazy by this new regime. The kindest way to say it is perhaps they are baffled about how such a bold strategy is paying off, or maybe this is all part of the plan to win those games, drive your opponent insane, and take advantage.

The Dragons on the other hand, they are very sneaky! Getting the points under everyone’s noses, and not making it a big deal… except one has to wonder why the hell is dennis crumpet in this team then? He goes against everything the team currently stands for. Perhaps they have learnt well from Hatchy1992 , who certainly knows how to make his presence not felt in the room, so they can sneak about slowly, just a silent snap of the neck, before moving on. Oh, who are we kidding, it’s the Admin elect Hate that is showing off his skill and capabilities in how to run things. They are a very professional unit in how to get things down, quite a contrast to their opponents.

It becomes much clearer why this is the match of the round, the professionally run, humble lot, vs the loud and in-your-face mob. What is the right way to run a club’s culture? Does it have any impact on the field? Are people better off if they follow one school of thought? Why the hell is Dennis crumpet playing for the Dragons?! These questions may not even be answered this round.

Players to watch:
Kohphi is one of those guys that doesn’t seem to get his just dues in this Bombers team, if only because the likes of the rookies and the captain has stolen some of his thunder. He makes a lot of good contributions, and does some fine work on the field as the ruckman for the Bombers. Expect more quality work on and off the field from the big man.

Hate seems to be one of the flavours in recent weeks, and it is because that he’s got a great avatar, and that he’s a good simmer…. And a good ruckman… and a good contributer… and a good leader too… oh, who are we kidding? It’s because he’s the next big boss. But let those above qualities show why the current boss is handing the reigns over to him. What’s not to like?

The Tip:
It may seem that the Dragons do have their work cut out in the forward line, but with an underrated quality in their midfield, that does include the likes of roo2macca in it, they will keep the Bombers accountable in midfield, in what is expected to be a very good battle. However, the forward woes of the Dragons will come short yet again as the Bombers will make the most of their chances.

OP fail. No mention of #rednesday

I wonder if the bombers have found the 2kg bag of prawns i hid in an abdu prison roof cavity before i left.

I found it and fed them to the 15 rookies at the pre season welcome dinner. It's why there are only 6 left!

Hello.... Dragons, is it? I'm never sure until I rock up on the day.

I'm just happy to be here...
Yeah it's a bit like that... Especially when you play the Royals...

Rest assured, we will actually have a presence in this thread, though.

Not a lot it seems.

Still trying to counter the vertigo of being on top of the ladder. Beats the shit out of having a sore neck and looking up as per the past few seasons!

Maybe that's where the cellar dwellers are going wrong. Bit hard to win the ground ball when your neck is permanently craned upwards.
