Official Match Thread Season 39 Round 8 - Gold City Royals vs Ophidian Old Boys at The Golden Throne

Yes The Filth Wizard's boys are back in town for a match against the Old Brabs, who will be looking to win their first premiership after four long seasons of hardship. But they will be hard-pressed to come up with the chocolates, as the Roys are a very hard-running side, and they really found form last weekend where their accurate kicking and high knees were a feature. After a few years playing at their alternative venue, will a return to the Golden Throne bring better fortunes to the side that finished bottom of the ladder last season?

Down back sabso has been in stunning touch and has laid two tackles or more in each of their last 15 games - a league record. They will be matched up against Pugsley who has added a few string to their bow and will be hard to contain, especially working in tandem with Ulahoopski who never takes a backward step, but sometimes sideward. Officials wish to advise the attending public that after last week's debarcle pasties are not being served from any food outlets for the remainder of the season.



The tale of the tape is that this looks pretty good for the OOB. New captaincy and fresh eyes should help them run the game out, while superior athleticism is something that has troubled the Royals for a long time. But will their new team song give them the gusto needed to steal a win???
