Saves what happened to Red Cadeaux. Vet checks are the only smart thing the VRC have done.

Truly laughable comment and sad that anyone on the board actually believes the VRC propaganda - why would he break down this year when he hasn't on any previous occasions

Argentia looked an Oaks filly yesterday I thought, and not at all a Coolmore horse as the camp were suggesting mid week.

Hard ridden just to keep up with them for most of the race and never settled at all but she still managed to have enough to be wanting to run through some gaps late.

The 3yos are so bad a filly could do the Coolmore/Oaks double this year.

Blackpool Flash had a bad day, but gee whiz i never took the early speed indicators on sky seriously but they are a genuine prank.
He is probably the fastest beginner of all time and wasn't even in the top 4 on the early speed indicator.

What propaganda? Its a scientific test to see if the horses have the constitution to be able to handle our tracks. But thanks for the Donald trump type analysis that if you think you are right then it is so.
Europeans dont have a strong constitution compared to Australian horses. Doesnt mean they arent faster, just means they are weaker. If they cant pass the test they shouldn't come. There's enough evidence to show that there is a bigger chance of breaking down than the Aussies.

Yes because it has been catastrophic for POA racing on our tracks for the last couple of years.

the evidence is completely laughable based on a ludicrously small sample size and the measures they have introduced would have stopped dead set zero of the breakdowns that have occurred so far

the constitution suggestion is completely false and a joke. If it’s so bad why don’t they break down in the Caulfield cup or the cox plate or up in Sydney

Do you seriously think the lads would send there horses halfway around the world to race on tracks that could kill them. Laughable

who is the most underrated horse, and dark horse of this spring who will claim the Melbourne Cup and why is it Montefilia? :greenalien:

Please list all Sydney trained winners of the Melbourne cup for the last 30 years

i dont know why you are arguing. Red Cadeaux came over and copped an injury that killed him. A few others canme over and died Tell me how many Australian horses have died on racetracks in Melbourne in the last few years? cant recall many yet the English die pretty much every year.. its pretty simple really, if you want to come over get your horse tested, If you dont want too then stay where you are. Just like vaccination vs anti vax .

i can recall one in the past 3 months but i cant remember its name. In that time there has probably been 3000 runners. There is only one melbourne cup per year with only 24 runners and there has been deaths pretty much every year which is damning on the Europeans

Euro’s are softer. Not really debatable. They don’t have the conditioning that our growing horses get into their legs when trained locally. We harden their legs at a young age while euros have to have fully grown body on top of underdeveloped bone for our conditions.

You think only one horse has broken down on Melbourne race tracks over the last 3 months ?

Perhaps heathsy would like to explain why they only started breaking down in the last 5 years or so too and ONLY in the Melbourne cup. Rapid deterioration of the gene pool perhaps?

6 since 2013. Not counting Admire rakti cos he was poisoned lol (yes its my conspiracy theory!)
Rostropovitch was close to being put down as well. Luckily Hayes has him now so he can run him into the ground.
6 European breds from maybe 120 runners? about 5 percent of runners die
Meanwhile according to this one horse dies every 3 days although it is anti racing propaganda

So 116 have died from 19000 races, say 8 runners every race on average equals about 152000 horses going around . .07 percent die.

Even with the small sample of Europeans this seems a significant result.

Why did it only start 8 years ago
Why does it only happen in the Cup and nowhere else?
Why doesn't it happen anywhere else on earth?
Why does nowhere else have these rules?

You would have to be a dead set mug not to see what the new measures actually are - protectionism in the form of completely unnecessary regulation

Until anyone can come up with a solid reason the most logical reason is a statistical anomaly based on a small sample size and the only reason it gets noticed is because of the attention that race gets.

Flemo as a track is fine outside of it, Melbourne is fine outside of it, 3200m races are fine outside of it, Euros are fine outside of it.

The thing that would make the most sense is possibly Werribee but that's pretty much the only thing ticked off as fine
