There is all this copious amount of evidence that inbreeding causes this yet the geniuses of this board blame Werribee. Why is it recent? Inbreeding is way more prevalent in the last 20 years so the horses are weaker. FACT.

You can't ignore the data that you do have, especially given its virtually impossible to get a meaningful sample size.

You don't ignore it but when you analyse it and can't find a reason there might not be one

Or you ignore the fact it might be Werribee cos $$$ and just make face saving over the top changes

Because most people realize that it takes more than 8 years to meaningfully change the genetics of an animal that has been on the planet for 55 million years

the horses that run in the CC are trained at Werribee as well. But they arent totally wound up to peak at the CC. They peak at the MC so their constitution is tested more.

Lol utter horse shittery. Can't believe you could make such a claim with a straight face

Now do the Cox Plate where they are also not peaking I guess

they are weaker after many years of inbreeding which has been ramped up the last 20 with fewer sires. How can you not get this through your head? Go read the studies!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes so why have they only started breaking down in the last few years?

ok so horse dont die because of Werribee in the CC but die because of Weribee in the MC
Got it

But they die in MC because of Constitution but not in CC - utterly heinous call

FWIW i don't think its Werribee either - its just bad luck

ignore the studies and use your crystal brain. You might as well be an anti vaxxer

Tell you what - the breeders must have a hand of god if they can breed them perfectly to taget a 3200m race in November held at one particular track at the ass end of the world.

If you are arguing the breeding angle then I would say the breeding profiles of the horses has changed a fair bit over the 10 years. Better bred, maybe weaker horses, if that is your argument, coming out more recently.

AVD or the 3 year olds Coolmore/Godolphin/Lloyd are bringing out are a fair bit different to Media Puzzle etc of the past.

AVD was out of an Aussie mare - better start nuclear scanning everything that goes around at Port Mac today

The first race was a maiden fought out by George Hanlon and Bart Cummings's runners.

would have been tough for the caveman with both trainers running them dead too

I thought Silent Impact had chance of being a Golden Rose horse at 50:1 so it’s disappointing to see it go the staying path.

The Poseidon and RTR looks fun though.

The Jap horse looks a nice EW bet in the Makybe Diva if he accepts. The mile at Flemington looks perfect for him. Was only a half length off Mounga first up and should come on a lot for that run. Tofane a doubt at the mile, don't love the Memsie form of Aegon and IG, Incentivise first up at a mile? Pls. Not much else

Nah I reckon he goes lengths backwards here just like She's Ideel in the Chelmsford (despite a wall of money coming for her). I know he isn't a stayer but it just happens so often that imports run the lights out first up in oz then go backwards quite quickly.

I'd be staggered if Big Mo didn't beat him further this time around. Mo could be an utter moral if anywhere near his best.

Doesn't seem the type to go backwards to me. Your ones bringing in residual fitness from overseas tend to go backwards but this guy has had 8 months off the scene and been in work for Matthew Smith for 3-4 months. 1400m was too short, wants 1600-2000m so I'm expecting an improvement

Z lite 😎
