Ekon Powerbands.

LOL, the *********.
I was skeptical too but my mates mum wore one and to prove to us they worked she made me and my mate arm wrestle. One of us with the Power band one and the other had something else on our wrist so we didn't know who was wearing the powerband and I swear the powerband actually helped. We swapped a couple of times. and the person wearing the powerband always ended up doing better by quite a margin. no joke

Don't know if these count as fads but the media were consumed by them at the time and abruptly dropped them when the next fad came along

Kony 2012
Y2K bug
SARS
Avian Flu
Swine Flu

And NBA basketball cards c 1994 -there were actually whole shops devoted to selling them

Had to google that, are those as awkward to use as they look?
na not really, only took a few balls to get used to it. if you hit one properly it went miles.

was never game enough to use it in a game though

What I'd do to have a Sizzler near me :(

Everytime I go in, doesn't matter where in Australia, they're full on packed. So it's barely a fad.
I missed sizzler until I found the parmesan bread at coles.

Mind you if you hot some of that powdered parmesan and butter you can make it at home

The potato skins were pretty awesome though

I went once and never returned when I saw a 2yo girl put her hands in some of the food while her dad just looked on smiling sweetly

You crazeh. Been to the one near Brisbane? Actually, for what it's worth, Brisbane food as a whole isn't bad quality. Melbourne's obviously better though.

As for Sizzler being shut down in NSW, we went on a huge roadtrip there 2 weeks ago, and I'm certain I spotted one.
