So how many wins next year. So how are you?

I can see us getting 4-6 wins. Ideally we're still playing to win games, but with the focus on the development of the younger players, which will mean that we probably don't win as many as we could with the focus solely on winning games. Could very well be a race to the bottom between us and WCE.
Well said. North will be crap as usual too. Their last 2 games were as bad as our mid season losses when we had 2 senior players. Essendum might be bottom 4 again and who knows about lollingwood and gws :poo:

Collingwood could be seriously fighting to avoid the bottom 5, GWS will be top 8 without doubt IMO. Essendon mid table. Melbourne could be in big trouble as well.

How shit do you have to be for priority picks? Chances are 2025 and 26 will be equally bleak. We’ll get younger and even more inexperienced before we turn the corner.
This we are now the least experienced list in the comp with just 53 games a player. Just imagine the hit that will take at the end of next year with no Lynch Prestia, and maybe a few others going.
I think we will target a few mature types next off season.
We are the second youngest list with an average age of 23.9. Although that one is more about the age of the 22 you put on the park.

I think the bit that gets over looked with us is the 20 to 24 age group. we have struggled to get games into this group and are clearly behind other developing teams in this.

What we have done this off season has clearly been done with a long term solution in mind.

On NM their age experience demographic screams out real improvement next year they have about 15 players with more than 100 games Darling Daniel and Parker brings in a whole lot of know how.

When all are fit they have a very well structured team with tons of first round picks who have mostly got a decent amount of games into them a highly talented midfield group and they have a problem not of fitting kids in but fitting mature players around those kids hence they now have depth in most areas.

With out doing the maths id say their best 23 would be around 25 plus years and average around 100 games.
They were happy to trade out next years first rounder simply because the key indicators say they must rise next year.
I hope like hell they dont but it will happen sooner rather than later. They have done most of the hard yards.

Their older team minus the likes of Osullivan, McKercher, Sheezel, Duursma and Wardlaw. All top 4 picks goes like this.

McDonald 30 - Dawson 26 - Corr 30
Daniel 28 - Logue 27 - Fisher 26

Scott 24 - Simpkin 27 Tucker 28
Xerri 26 - L D-U 25 - Powell 23

Parker 32 - Comben 24 - Curtis 22
Zurhaar 26 - Larkey 26 - Darling 32

Ford 22 - Phillips 22 - Stephens 24 - C C-J 25.
Apart from a couple they all have 40 plus games.

Even their 21 and unders have reasonable games under their belts.

Personally i won't be pencilling a win in against them this year and i think they are gunna cause problems for most teams if they stay healthy.

How did norf get a bunch of experienced players in without pushing the salary cap? Mazda brand deals?

Really would not have thought Parker and Daniel were on high money being 32 year olds just looking to extend their careers.
Darling was part of a salary dump by wce. . He had a 800k salary so wce pay 300k and NM 500k balance for one year. Wce get rid of salary and a older kpf they dont want anymore and NM get an experienced premiership player to help with tall numbers in a list with only youngish key forwards.

I think all three for where they are at were cheap astute short term picks who have all won a premiership and suit where NM list is at.

I got a bunch of dislikes for suggesting we get some cheap astute short term picks a while ago. We could have had Toddo Goldstein as our back up ruck for a year instead of Kozi (cheap but not astute). We could push for Ned Reeves now. We could have got Luke Parker instead of norf.

Would be hilarious if Parker sucks balls when we play them next year.

i cant believe how many "Richmond supporters "want to win 1-2 games for an entire season

GAGF
Lol.

There will be quite a few people losing their minds on here and wanting to sack Yze if we are getting flogged every week and don't win a game.

And you will be first in the queue old son :thumbsu:

Interesting post.

You think North will be a fair bit better than WCE next year then?

You would have to say eventually they turn the corner. Reckon that happens next year similar to how Hawthorn suddenly clicked

youre damn right partna 🤠

Bolton and Baker admitted they weren't all in last season,
I don't buy into that for a second.

Baker had almost his best season and always gave his all apart from maybe a late game or two.

The only reason Bolton cops it is his finishing in front of goal and the fact he has alwyas looked laconic. He spent a lot more time forward this year in what was literally a football grave yard with the way the ball came in and the personell around him.
Yet if he had kicked better he would have had another 40 plus goal season. He did manage to kick more goals this year than he did in 2023.
For a bloke who spent more time forward his mid numbers are still great.

Id hate to see what they can both do if they weren't trying this year.
