I completely forgot how sad "One more light" is. I'm here trying to write an assignment and holding back tears. I love music so much and how powerful it is

ArdentEagle ******* robbed

The top 2 songs were awful

The Song Contest has hit an all-time low

They weren't the best songs in that playlist but they had the cool factor of Ian Curtis and Ginger Baker.

I only gave 2 votes to Ye Ye De Smell because Ginger Baker was attached to it, I wouldn't know Fela Kuti if I fell over him.

Then I gave a vote to Joy Division because I couldn't find anything better to give a vote to and Joy Division are at least cool if nothing else.

I don't remember the Joy Division song but Ye Ye Smell stunk. The first 30 seconds were cool and the rest was abhorrent

This one still gets me ....

It's one of my favourites. But now it takes on a different meaning.

I can't see how this matters.

The band did everything except provide vocals, the same situation as Valerie. That's more where I was coming from.
Yeah but that's true of NEARLY EVERY hit song from the past which had the superstar singer's name in lights

Frank Sinatra
Elvis Presley
Cliff Richard
Aretha Franklin
Tom Jones
Diana Ross
Olivia Newton-John
Cher
Madonna
Kylie Minogue
Jason Donovan
Rick Astley

Their hit songs were gift-wrapped for them. They had songwriters and producers. They just added the vocals.
Producers in the past were always content to take a back seat & stay out of the limelight (while raking in the cash)

Just imagine...

"This week's number 1 song: Phil Spector's 'Baby Love' feat. Diana Ross and the Supremes" :)

or how about...

"This week's number 1 song: Chips Moman with 'Suspicious Minds feat. Elvis Presley"

People don't buy Valerie or Uptown Funk because it's a Mark Ronson song. F**k that guy. They bought it because of Amy Winehouse and Bruno Mars. Same deal with Sia and David Guetta on Titanium. Even though Sia provided the vocal melody and lyrics, that French egomaniac put his name first as though he was the star. Pffff.

Dunno what has happened, but you've changed from one of my favourite contestants to one of the biggest whingers every week, without fail.
Your definition of whinging needs clarifying. Examples please.

Not the first time the wnner has been blocked so I haven't listened to it.

Elvis didn't release his songs on his producer's albums.

I think producers should be more recognised, particularly in genres such as pop or hip-hop.

It’s good to see projects like the recent Denzel Curry & Kenny Beats album where the rapper and producer are given equal billing.

26 votes under 25 votes? can you check that?
Votes were correct. I just put the placings in the wrong order.
