Let's get Carr in ASAP as caretaker.

Then start the new coach process immediately. There's no reason why the new coach can't start before the end of the year be it Carr or another assistant (unless we want another senior coach).

He came in last off-season following a season that all 17 other clubs would’ve sacked their coach in with the same context as us on field. He was definitely brought in to be our next coach, and 3 games into his career as a Port assistant coach I’d say he’s basically external. I’m all in on Carr tbh, but I’m also in on any coach not named Ken Hinkley (there’s about 3 others I’d put on the list too for the same reason as Ken - long period with no success).
 
Carr as caretaker: Yes.
Carr as crown coach: Nah.
 
who ever takes the job won't be hear in 2-3 years

we missed a huge opportunity last year and for that we will pay the price

hopefully we learn from our mistake
 
If an external coaching selection panel, that has no people currently at Port selects Carr I'd accept him. Anything outside that and it'd be another "Can you believe the best candidate was here all along?!?" job that stinks, even if he is a good choice.

Tredrea alluded to Carr being pushed out last stint he had with us. Presumably, wasn’t getting on well with working under Voss. Jury’s out on Carr at the moment. All we want is for due diligence to be carried out in a process that doesn’t involve Koch , Richardson or Davies in making the decision.

When Josh was premiership coach of North Adelaide he wasn't an insecure egomaniac and had Jenny Williams working with his league and reserves players because he appreciated what she brought when he was a player.

Would be great but Kochless will never pull the trigger. Too busy pulling other things.

Carr was assistant coach at Port from start of 2012 to end of 2015. Then he went and improved himself, away from Hinkley.

You coach the way you played.

Hinkley was a nice attacking back flanker, not a hard nut shut down player.


I want a bit of this attitude from our next coach - interim or permanent

My joy at getting rid of Ken would be muddied by fury if the current regime followed some kind of b.s. "succession plan". Would be a total abrogation of their duty to get the best possible coach, but is exactly the sort of thing those clowns might do. Too much to hope for to get a complete cleanout at the top, but man it's what we desperately need.
