So much for so-called increased participation if they had to merge all the non AFL state teams into the Allies.
I think the "minor" states play in div2, and after that a best-of team plays as the Allies against the major states.
Hated the Allies in SoO, but I can see the point for under age purposes and giving the players games against better quality teams.

So basically Div 2 plays off first, Qld, NSW/ACT, Tas, NT then they combine to become Allies and playoff in the Div 1 with the others.
Allies had all away games and did fairly well.

Poor photo, but doesn't look like any major changes for the WAFL in 2017 (unfortunately).
I really hope the WAFL begins to standardise things soon.
Also can't wait for the yearly visual delight that is East vs South Freo..
That Swan Districts jumper is a disgrace. I'm not a big fan of Subiaco's design but at least they don't have a belly sponsor

It's a big bear of mine as well.
The WAFL really need to put the foot down and have some guidelines, especially for the front of these things. Front numbers should go. Shove all the sponsors to one side, with a major sponsor across the gut if need be, have the league logo on the breast where it should be. Would definitely clean up a lot of the jumpers.
Also tell Peel to go back to their original jumper, as their current shit isn't working. (but I doubt they'll ever happen now they've won a flag in it).
West Perth and east Fremantle are bereable, like jeep for Richmond the sponsor doesn't impose itself.
Subi don't have to sell out because they have function rooms at Subiaco oval, where they make a killing 22 plus weeks a year. Game will change next year

It'll be great if the WAFL can get back to a level playing field. The clubs with the most money like Subi have the least amount of supporters, but big clubs in terms of support like West Perth, and even East Perth before their alignment deal are the ones that are struggling now, not to mention the continued demise of Perth. Hopefully the new stadium provides something of a reawakening.
