Just absolutely totally utterly sick of it. Those perceived to be good players or good teams get umpired differently. Every. Single. Time.
I don’t care how good a player Daicos is, I hate watching him play
That one where he leaned forward and pushed he's head in to get a free was just deplorable.

At least tomorrow when the umpires dept come out & say that non 50 to Scott was an error we'll all feel a whole lot better.
Yep, we can all feel like the English. It was a moral victory.

Exhibit A, i swear the free kick's were basically even at 1/2 time, ended up 24 to 14, we got 4 less than our season average, they got 5 more than their's, make of that what you will.
Somebody said they got 15 frees in a row.

They got some soft ones, but they also got away with some umpiring howlers like missed 50s. I saw people posting that the one in Q1 down in the forward pocket was a late call by the ump but it was almost dead in front of us and the players definitely reacted to a whistle. It's possible that some may have thought it was a pie free, What amazed us was that the ball was brought back as we thought that at least one umpire conceded that the play should continue.

The two men on the Scott mark near the end was downright unforgivable. How can four umpires have not reaacted to that? It is impossible. Impossible. Especially in context of paying the 50 against Will. FFS.

Did I mention that somebody said they got 15 frees in a row. Fifteen. That is implausible. Actually it is almost impossible. Impossible.

Just to be clear - the Sheezel free kick that saw the ball goes through several Collingwood hands after the free kick = no 50-metre penalty. Luckily Sheezel was good enough to goal from the pocket anyway.

But the 50 against Phillips (or Powell?) in the 3rd when he was fractionally late giving the ball back as he tried to see where the Collingwood play was - that resulted in a goal.

And of course, the Scott cluster **** should have seen him shooting for goal from no more than 25 metres out.

I also suggest that within the run of 15 frees that you mentioned, there were at least 5 that were shots on goal.

In all seriousness, I think the umps really want North to have pick one this year and they did their bit to help.

Collingwood building an amazing record in close games.

Also building up a nice record getting the rub of the green in close games.
  • 2023 v Adelaide. Dawson has is head taken off inside 50 in the dying seconds with the Crows 2pts down. Play on.
  • 2023 Preliminary Final. Collingwood holding onto a tight lead. Umpires decide to change the rules and award no free kicks late in the game, missing several GWS kicks.
  • 2023 Grand Final. Brisbane's last roll of the dice get a free. Advantage paid when none was there and Bailey clearly didn't hear the whistle. Play on.
  • 2024 v Adelaide. Crows surge forward in dying seconds. Rankine called for running too far in a very line ball call.
  • 2024 v North. Scott marks about 70m out. Two Collingwood players come over the mark without the umpire calling play on. No fifty.

Growing up I was a massive footy fan, and NMFC were my team.

With the ongoing degradation of the sport, I'm now a NMFC fan and barely watch any games that we aren't involved in.

Was a north free kick in the first where the pies player kicked the ball into the crowd seconds after the whistle… no 50 🙄
