FMD, the AFL 'explanation' is nearly as ridiculous as Collingwood fans' reactions on X.

And amid all the 'the Yeo decision was wrong' angst, if the umps had have paid the high contact on George first it wouldn't have been a problem.

The idea that Bailey Scott played on is astoundingly weird
Even if he did it’s irrelevant unless the ump has called play on.
Whistle.mark.pies players encroach. 50 should be paid.
There’s no other way to interpret it.

Kane and the afl are attempting to gaslight us and it’s ****ed.

It’s bigger than us. This is the integrity of the entire sport that’s being ****ed with right now.
At least there is some media attention this time. We've been shafted plenty of times and the normal reaction is that North should harden up. Maybe the worm is about to turn.

I hope.

From a Vic teams perspective, I'm sure there's some AFL think tank that hopes the smaller Vic teams fold so they can move their members to one of the Tigers, Pies, Blues, Bombers, or Cats.

That non-goal last season was brutal, as a team who also got dudded by an apparent bench infringement that handed the Swans the win last year, we feel the pain. Obviously the cost where the Crows missed the finals was a worse outcome.

Would be interesting to see a ladder of most vs least apologises where it negatively effected the outcome of the game.
What would be interesting would be to see the free kick stats in games after Collingwood fell behind their opposition.

I would love to place a bet with Tabcorp that it’s in the positive.

Robbo and Whately getting stuck into the 50m explanation 😂
I'll post an angry face when giantroo puts the video up.

Not angry at GR, nor even Robinson, but angry at the garbage being pedaled by the AFL.

This media attention will force somebody out. It should be at least two of the match day umpires and the director of football operations...

...to begin with.

The Pies players didn’t play to the whistle all match. Must be nice to have an inbuilt bias from the umps that ‘lots of supporters, must not have heard’ and be able to exploit it all match. Outside of the obvious 50s, there were multiple others where they were told to stand/ move back they just ignored.

The ladder as it stands right now would look different

I’m not saying it would I’m saying in close games that have occurred over recent games it could well have made massive differences.

But yeah it well could be vastly different.

Look at all the close games the Pies have won, look at close finals, even a crucial decision could put a team out that may have won.

They had multiple possessions after one, mcqueery booted the ball full distance after two whistles, somebody was dancing the samba ln the mark in q4, and not a peep from the maggot contingent.

I worked in corporate enterprises for years managing major IT incidents and emergency situations. Often explanations had to be provided to regulators, to industry partners or major clients so professional PR types would take the facts from myself or my team to create a narrative. In almost every instance, when I read their spin I couldn't reconcile their bullsh!t with the facts that were provided. It usually got worse when lawyers re-wrote the messages. I always had a full and thorough comprehension of the number one rule, which was to never admit liability, but there were times I had to bang the table and point out that the message that had been re-written was so wrong and was misleading (in some cases bald faced lies) that I would not send it. I mostly got my way with corrections to at least add an element of truth as the messages would be issued with my name or the name of a member of my team at the bottom.

I shook my head at the AFL message today. That was a disappointing explanation to say the least.
It was disappointing, but, the point I and others like Roosurgence have been trying to make, not entirely unexpected.

It'll just keep getting wiped over. Can't do much about it other than start winning.

You half joke, but imagine what these guys get up to when they self-regulate behind closed doors. Think Melbourne tanking (found not guilty?), Essendon ASADA (tried not to punish until wada got involved), Hawthorn racism (no transparency outside of AFL leaks to the media)...

Imagine what they turn a blind eye to, or deal with in house when they can get away with it.

It's a pretty morally empty organisation. I mean, Gil raced straight to become CEO of the countries biggest gambling company ...
