We have AFL level fitness/stamina to last about a quarter and are competitive in that time. After that, it's woeful.
Sack the fitness people ASAP flog the into the ground at training during the week off .
This club has become a joke to the other 17 clubs and all non NMFC players.
You could be at player at either Gold Coast Carlton or Essendon that is so bad once you play against the NMFC you can become a superstar overnight.
As for selection against the Eagles you must pick the 1st pick of the MSD and if we as a club select this Payne a small undersized midfielder supporters will go crazy.
Take Blight or Skaife as pick 1 .

Yartapuulti V Indigerieroo

Yes I think we should have changed our name like some of the other clubs.
Not much to add , 5 goals to 3 quarter time. Probably will get done by 100 points.

We can delist at least tonight with nary a concern that it will impact us on field.

This is absolutely our problem. Yes we have a young team. Even a skillful team We can compete when we're fresh and all is well. But not once the game wears on. Then we stop competing.

A few guys are preventing us from getting smashed by even more than we are. LDU is one of them. Sheezel is another. There are a few more.

We have to change our captains. Nice guys, both of them, but they're not getting it done. Simpkin gets some slack because of injuries/ concussion, but Luke. Oh Luke. Where has your 2020 form gone?

I didn't watch all of it. First time this season.

From what I saw:
Zurhaar played better today but his body language isn't great. Might be gone at this rate.

Larkey is horribly down on form and confidence. So is Bailey Scott. Neither world be in the top 10 in Syd right now and it's killing us. They needed to at least stay at 2023 levels if not improve and they've gone backwards. They are, between the two of them, a big part of or slide this year.

Thank goodness our coaches don't read this forum or they'd have dropped Aiden Corr. Has been very good the last 3 weeks.

George Wardlaw: love him, and everything he does. We have to find a way to get him fit enough so he gets it more often. That's when we will hurt the opposition more.

Duursma: the talent is obvious. Would like him to impact more but it's still early.

Liam Shiels I am sure is helpful at training and to set standards but on field he's not the player he was.

Stephenson is frustrating footballer. Seemed to have another form drop off today. Not what we need from a semi-senior player. Same draft as LDU, taken 2 picks later, only half the footballer that LDU is.

Soeaking of LDU, we need to throw the kitchen sink at him in terms of a contact offer. Irreplacable. Without him we lose by 100 pts today.

Tucker was a surprise. More like that please.

Powell is coming along nicely. As is Comben. Thought Taylor was a positive today. WDawson looks alright.

Xerri is doing a good enough job. The least of our problems.

Again, it's fitness, fitness, fitness. We've got the skills. Our chipping the ball gameplan isn't really working. Eventually we turn it over and the opposition score. It's masking our fitness deficit.

In the off season we need to be running on the sand dunes, in the mountains, on the beaches, everywhere. Players need to run from their homes to training. Whatever it takes.

We also need to draft and trade for more endurance athletes. Then in 2025 we might start to win a few games.

We're a chance in 2 weeks against West Coast. Stay positive, guys. This won't and can't last forever.
No chance against Eagles. Not a chance in hell. And I think we're in such a deep hole we may struggle to ever climb out

We've burnt a lot of high picks on projects when the rest of the league is going the other direction. We pick guys who both can't run and need to bulk up and then flipping wonder why we look lazy and weak across the board. They're not catching up to their draft mates who already had a tank and/or size.

I have confession. I watch the first quarter and go away for an hour. Then I come back and watch the rest of the game with the jump forward function.

It reduces the time of the torture.

It keeps me sane.
I've watched every game but other than the Freo (competitive game) and Giants (attended) matches I've stopped watching by 3QT at the latest (basically whenever the other team puts the cue in the rack). There's nothing to learn about our players when the heat's gone out of the game and it turns into a praccy match.

We've simply been hopeless for 5 years now. There isn't anything left to say that hasn't been said.

I'll continue to tune in each week but I'm not going to watch the opposition go through a training run once the result is secured.

I come in peace.

Hey lol I know our mobs had a few back and forths about Jason Horne Francis. But I know its all for laughs none of youse are going to hate on a homesick young kid for wanting to be with his family and reckon kangas did alright outta the deal Wardlaw looks a beauty.

I know it seems really bad but your kids are showing great signs and it'll turn for you guys soon. Lol I have a soft spot for norf and hope you guys cheers us on as your 2nd team in the finals we're a working class club like you lot.

^^^^^^^^^^Poorta supporters I've written your patronising copy for you if you want to repost it^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

Got smashed in the middle , our forward line , defence was a bit better but still not great.

Other than we're going great
This Is Bad Season 8 GIF by THE NEXT STEP

Plenty to like in the first half today - yes there was some shocking execution but there was intent and some good passages of play. Would have been a different first quarter if that ridiculous 3m mark/50 m penalty that resulted in a PA goal and the non HTB that would have seen us have a very gettable shot.

We fell apart in the second half, battle-hardened bodies got on top and we couldn't match them but we didn't drop our heads.

Plenty of green shoots and green shoots are what we're looking for right now.

Idk what to do re watching anymore

Week in week out for 2 years of hoping; probably longer but this season is horrific. Absolutely zero chance of winning week in and week out

I can’t even read the farce of the Preview Thread and the arguments of who is In and who is Out when it’s peripheral players that are pretty much not that good

It used to be such a huge part of my winter existence following this game

But this is absolutely the pits, football Hell.

Embarrassing to mention you follow them weekly.

Humiliating to watch the Opposition mock us today…look at JHF at 11.22 in the 3rd quarter laughing at how garbage we are.

I can remember as a kid being shattered leaving the 78 GF and Mum saying you know Dad has seen a lot worse.

Nearly 50 years on for the life of me i cannot believe I am seeing this right before my eyes; the worst run in our history

Anyone thinks we aren’t far off things turning needs to tune into Cats GWS game…..the intensity of that game and skill set of majority of players is light years ahead of us.
We have so many ordinary, hecking ordinary, users of the ball, both by hand and foot.
Even our very best players still lacking in the required intensity IMO.

You prepared to stomach weeks of 100 point losses or 50 point losses?
I'm interested in seeing a team developing into a solid team over 2024-26.
We have a few good players to come back in over the next 2-3 weeks which should improve us.
Just want players who are not up to it out of the team.

first quarter was probably one of our best for the years besides the two late goals we still held our own in that quarter. seems our second quarter drop offs haven’t changed and just moved to a different time slot soo i guess that’s an improvement?

I honestly think regarding the drop off in games: yes it’s a fitness thing but just as much as that it’s a mindset thing. There needs to be at least a few guys that are clearly willing to push through the pain barrier. I’ve seen it talked about a bit across different threads but it’s very clear we have a critical lack of players with elite level competitiveness.

It’s a massive issue because it doesn’t just apply to game day, but also to out on the training track and in the gym. We are absolutely desperate for some mongrel campaigners.

85% of our list wouldn't get a game at any other club.
Then there are sides like Sydney who can't find a spot for Luke Parker.

The players that give 100% week in and week out : Wardlaw, Sheezel, Xerri, and Comben...Thats it.
Too many don’t give a ****.

That non-effort by Ford was a disgrace.

I would actually call it out in front of the group and tell him, that’s why you play VFL this week.

Start shaming these players in front of the group.

If they can’t handle it, **** them off.

These guys are being paid well to pick and choose when they want to try.

Had enough it. Standards are non-existent.

Did we really swing Chom forward again? If so, FFS are we going to do that every week or just let the bloke make it as a defender? Such short sighted BS from Clarkson makes me wonder..

We were behind by plenty, Larkey needed help and Pink was unsighted. It was the right call, for most of the day Chom was caught on smaller players anyway.
