During the AFL season Channel 9 televise the AFL in Melbourne LIVE at 1pm and then a DELAYED telecast at 4pm leading into National Naan News at 6. However, the opening AFL Premiership match is not until the Lions game against the Saints on March 24 at the Gabba. As far as I know, this means Sunday 13 March on Ch 9 would be open for the powers that be at 9 in Melbourne to televise the MELB NEWC match either 2.30pm live against the gate or 3 or 4pm delayed. This would leverage a football-free weekend in Melbourne and boost the profile of the Storm early in the season.

You know it makes sense.

Better get foxtel if you wanna watch the Storm at a decent time on days they play.
