Yep, Survivor is back again for another season as Survivor: Blood vs Water. As was reported at the reunion in Fans vs Favourites 2 the cast would feature returning castaways playing against their family members. The cast has now been revealed and is as follows,

Tyson Apostel (Tocantins & Heroes vs Villains)
Aras Baskauskas (Panama. Sole Survivor in Panama, released an Album in 2011)
Rupert Boneham (Pearl Islands, All Stars, Heroes vs Villains. Won $1 million as favourite player in All Stars season)
Candice Cody (nee Woodcock, Cook Islands & Heroes vs Villains)
Monica Culpepper (One World)
Colton Cumbie (One World)
Kat Edorsson (One World)
Laura Morett (Samoa)
Gervase Peterson (Borneo)
Tina Wesson (The Australia Outback, All-Stars. Sole Survivor in The Australian Outback)

Caleb Bankston (Colton's fiancé)
Vytas Baskauskas (Aras' brother, math professor)

John Cody (Candice's husband, allegedly six years younger than her but got conflicting ages at this point)

This Season
- Season 27 is being filmed in the Philippines again but this time at Palaui Island, Cagayan.
- The game will be 39 and a half days long. Players will be dropped off at sunset in their 10 pairs to spend the night alone, this will be known as "Day Zero". The pairs will then meet up the next day and the game will begin. Probst said this was to "get them thinking they were playing as a pair".
- The players will then be split up into returning players vs loved ones. "Your partner becomes your adversary, your competition" says Probst.
- Redemption Island is back after being absent for three seasons.
- A person can replace their partner at Redemption Island if they are voted out. For instance if Tina is voted out then Katie can take her place on Redemption Island while Tina will join the tribe that Katie came from.
- Each duel on Redemption Island will be a three person duel with last place eliminated. Partners can switch with each other before each duel. Say if there is a strength challenge and Laura Boneham is on Redemption Island, Rupert could switch places with his wife if he thinks he could do a better job. They can then switch back at a future duel if they so wish.
- Each duel winner will get an opportunity to give a hidden immunity idol clue to any person from either tribe.
This series premieres on September 18 in the US. There are persistent rumours floating around that Channel 9 has released the rights to season 27 of Survivor and that it might be picked up by another free to air station (Channel 7 or 10) or it may end up airing on Pay TV. Channel 9/GO have remained fairly quiet on this front so far and haven't said much with regards to the new season which has lead to a lot of gossip and rumour on the matter.
There is also word of a new version of Australian Survivor being produced should the rights to the US Version switch to another network. This is beginning to gain momentum with series such as The Mole and Big Brother coming back after having breaks from Australian TV. It might also mean Survivor: Marquesas (season 4) is finally aired.
