of the 21 players you listed only 4 of them are from the academy.

of the 40 players currently on the list 7 of them are from the academy

Which means it's the biggest single source of our recruits currently. Followed by the Geelong Chargers I believe.

I think you're underselling it a bit here mate. The majority of our list is from the Academy. They're all mega superstars. The academy is a farce and a blight on equality in our fair competition.

PLAYERS UNDER 24: Nick Blakey (23), Justin McInerney (23), Tom McCartin (23), James Rowbottom (23), Lachlan McAndrew (23), Jack Buller (22), James Jordon (22), Braeden Campbell (21), Errol Gulden (21), Logan McDonald (21), Caiden Cleary (18), Will Edwards (20), Angus Sheldrick (20), Chad Warner (20), Matthew Roberts (20) Jacob Konstanty (19), Jaiden Magor (19), Caleb Mitchell (19), Will Green (18), Patrick Snell (18), Cooper Vickery (18)

TOP 5: Errol Gulden, Nick Blakey, Chad Warner, Tom McCartin, James Rowbottom.

Sydney has the most exciting young crop of players in the competition. The Swans’ young core of talent also covers the key positions on the field with Chad Warner and James Rowbottom dominating in the middle whilst Tom McCartin and Nick Blakey are excellent defenders.

A number of players have exploded onto the scene in the last two seasons. In 2022, Warner was a key factor in Sydney’s Grand Final appearance and in 2023, Errol Gulden announced himself as the best winger in the AFL which rightly earned him his first All-Australian blazer.

The big-name young players get all the plaudits but Justin McInerney, Braeden Campbell and Logan McDonald have proven themselves on the big stage. In 2023, the Swans blooded Angus Sheldrick and Matthew Roberts and with the addition of James Jordon during the trade period, Sydney’s young player stocks have been given a healthy boost.

League ranking: 1st

It would be futile and frankly delusional for any opposition fan to deny or argue with this, considering 8 of those listed for us have played in grand finals, which is exactly double the amount of the next-best teams (Brisbane, Collingwood & Melbourne.)

And then there's this bit.." The #Bloods culture...people try and put a finger on what that is...What I have experienced, if you want to call it Bloods culture, it’s a committed group that has no ego and is very considered and wants to engage their people."

I agree with him. Sydney needs a great ruckman to take us to another level. To enable our inside mids. We need him as much as he needs us. It is a match made in heaven. He will enable us and as a result he will display his array of talent around the ground. Exciting stuff is coming soon.

Nice to see Jimmy getting a little bit of love, there's been so much hype (understandably) over Grundy and to a lesser degree Adams, it's nice to hear from one of our other new signings.
Now to hear from Hamling.

Huge amount of Swans media this week. Quiet time of year so all our new trade-ins getting plenty of airtime.

Adams and Grundy both come across well, quite thoughtful and candid.

My favourite part of Grundy interview is when he's asked what he's most excited about:
"This" - waving his hand at the Sydney coast - "fantastic .. umm, opportunity"
