I have created a new prize money league on MyFantasyLeague.com
Link to league home page: Fantasy Football: SYNDICATE LEAGUE
Seeking expressions of interest to join.
12 owners maximum (including me).
$30 entry fee. Wont ask for it till near end of season when prizes have to be paid out.
Depending on how much this league costs me will determine the allocation of prize money. But it will be something like either winner takes all, or a split between champion and runner-up, around the $250-300 total pool.
Basic league type/structure...
Dynasty type league.
Active roster size, 28
Starters, 16...
1 QB, 5 RWTs, 1 offensive flex (either a QB or RWT), 1 K, 1 P, 2 DL, 2 LB, 2 DB, 1 defensive flex (either DL, LB, DB)
Bench then is 12, with 6 for IR and 6 for Taxi (rookies only).
Maximum per position....3 QB, 10 RWT, 2 K, 2 P, 5 DL, 5 LB, 5 DB. (32 into 28 available spots).
You will be able to start bye players because there is no tanking for picks concept and no h2h results affecting division standings. If you suck each week, you suck each week with a 0-11 record. Won't affect how well/poorly others do in the standings.
Salary Cap league (100m)
Contracts for players.
No draft....the startup rosters will be acquired by an ongoing online email auction, bidding money from your available salary cap to fill your roster.
There'll be two auctions...April-June....vet only auction.....July-August....rookie only auction.
Both these auctions are open-view auctions, you will see who is being bid on, by whom, and for how much.
The Vet Auction...opening bid on players will be minimum 1m, with increments of 50k.
The Rookie Auction....opening bid on players will be minimum 500k, with increments of 50k.
After that, all weekly waiver acquisitions will be done nightly via a Blind Bidding Auction, again salary cap dollars based. Blind meaning you wont see who has been bid on, by whom, or for how much.
These waivers will be done by Conditional Blind Bidding......eg, bid 2,250,000 on Trevor Lawrence, but if i don't get him then 1,000,000 on Justin Fields.
Any "undrafted" rookies from the Rookie Auction will have a minimum salary of 1m like vets if acquired in waivers afterwards. But they'll at least be classified as (R) rookies that they could be put on your taxi squad.
So all free agents will have $0 salary and 0 contract, until acquired. Once acquired via a bid, they'll now have a salary and a contract (1).
Players acquired via auctions will have a default 3-5 year contract.
Players traded can have their contracts upped to maximum 5 years.
When a players contract runs out in the future, there'll be some kind of Feb-March period where people can choose something like 2 vets to re-sign, 1 to franchise tag, and x amount of rookies to re-sign. Players unsigned going back into the free agent pool for the Vet Auction.
Team owners can trade players for players and/or cap dollars (no draft picks remember). Kind of like a transfer system.
Might be a manual thing I have to do....Eg, you spent 1m on a player in 2024, and trade him for 4m....that 3m difference goes from one teams cap to the other teams cap for 2025. Am still pondering ideas on this, measures/conditions. But that's the gist of it.
The league has no divisions, it is a single table like the English Premier League. Whomever finishes top is the champion.
There are no h2h games. Your score each week will be versus every other league opponent. What is called All-Play. So if you have the highest weekly score week 1, you would be 11-0 (having beaten all other 11 teams if you matched up against them h2h). If you finish with the worst weekly score, you would have a record of 0-11. Each weeks results then tally up your overall All-Play record.
As this is a start-up league, the league will be open to changes if there are any glaring issues before the season starts. And open to tweaks for future years with an end of season ideas/suggestions voting.
