It depends if they accept the compo for Daniher or force a trade. Band 1 they take compo and are then forced to trade for Harto. Band 2 they match, trade and can then get Harto as a free agent.

For once I agree with you, he's been out of contract twice in more recent times and has cried about wanting home and then within a week or two re-commits to the Bombers....I don't want this type of character at Adelaide....he's a wimp.
I personally think all small forwards should be part of the stoppage/midfield balance.
Helps them break away from defenders, create the space, and assists the midfield.
As great as Eddie was up forward his midfield/stoppage work was quite good too.

Are there some similarities in the arguments against recruiting Fantasia, with the arguments against recruiting Betts at the time?
If Daniher leaves as a FA, their compensation will be diluted with the signings of other free agents. Hence a trade.
By cheap I mean by cost of getting him here AND his salary. He just wants to be in Adelaide.
Gibbs took a pay cut to come home also.

My concern with Fantasia is his pressure. The game has changed since he looked like an absolute gun a few years ago. Now you can’t afford even one single small that doesn’t apply pressure. Particularly if we persist with an extra tall and none of those can apply much pressure.
I just don’t think Fantasia is even worth considering because you are asking him to change his game right of the bat. We have other fish to fry, younger players to put games into and develop.
Im not saying that it couldn’t work out well and we might be happy we decided to take the free hit. But I just feel like this would be a distraction from what we need to be doing. In particular moving away from a team that doesn’t/can’t apply pressure across the board.

Do Essendon really need more KPDs? They have Hooker, Hurley, Francis, BZT and Ambrose, plus Redmond and Ridley.

I know what you are saying, but Essendon was getting scored against at will last year. Hartigan for his shortcomings, is a pretty stout KPD. Which might be of interest to them.
Having said that I don't want Fantasia at all, so I don't know why i'm arguing for Hartigan to be traded for him.

You don't have to limit your number of forwards to the same moronic structure we've been using
With 3 actual forwards
+ a spillover mid
+ a young mid we refuse to play in the midfield
+ a non-statistical passenger in the Wright role
A decision between which one of McAdam or Fantasia we pick in the 22 only exists in the peanut brained Hart set up which has hopefully been banished.
