I'm not vehemently opposed to Fantasia, but nor am I keen. I think about it and just feel nothing. If I were any less excited I'd probably have to go see my doctor for a Viagra prescription.

I just don't see where he fits in or what need he's filling. It just seems like we'd only be doing it because he's an established player who wants to come here. Or, possibly more accurately, just wants out of Essendon. But yeah - "this guy says he wants to come to the Crows! See? People like us!". Oh well, 3rd round pick max, preferably 4th. If the trades for the players we actually want (ie Hately and whoever else we might be into) go through fairly smoothly then maybe Fantasia is the one to use our PSD pick on if there are no other worthwhile targets around?

To be honest - the fact that he wants us probably IS the main reason we're considering it.

I can see him replacing Murphy, I guess?

He'll be demanding our Pick 8, at a minimum, I also wouldn't be shocked if he initially asks for Pick 1 for him. I'm not joking either.

He knocked back two first round picks for Daniher, he's an absolute clown and a nightmare for clubs to deal with

I think a lot of the Dodoro stuff is just theatrics and media invention.

They haven't traded out THAT many players over the last few years. Hibberd was a 2nd round pick, Colyer was a 4th, I can't really remember any others. Most of their trades seem about right, with Essendon - if anything - occasionally giving up too much when bringing players in.

I think Orazio is a 3rd. I don't think it will be that big a deal.

C) We are about to probably have an 7-8 player draft on top of FA

I agree. Maybe 2 players in as trades, maybe 7 players in as draft picks, maybe two players less on the list.

They're not if Dmac is still being considered for a spot. If they're at a premium, 32yo perennial fringe performer in a role we have numerous options in would have been retired already. He has nothing to offer a 'rebuilding' side. Will have no impact on our next finals push.

To be honest - I completely agree. I'm mildly shocked by Strauchan and I will be stunned if Mackay is there.

Not because I think he's valueless. But because it will be almost impossible to bring in our NGAs if we don't cut deep enough.

Maybe - he did play the majorioty of the season, and didn't seem play many games in the twos.

I feel confident regarding Fantasia. The club are well aware of the Gibbs deal. Although many have pointed out it didn't turn out as bad as the media present it, it's still seen as a bit of a dark cloud over us. Can't see Kelly allowing anything stupid happening here.

3rd rounder max, or keep a guy on your list for another year who doesn't want to be there. Saad, Daniher etc, now's the time to clear out those that don't want to stay. Can't see them forcing Fantasia to stay.

Some good points here. Dodo can be as bullish as he likes but he will only be compounding the issues that make people want to leave the club in the first place.

In these circumstances it’s better to flush the toilet and start again. It’s the only way to get rid of the stench !

I don’t know, maybe in 2017 when we were gunning for the cup, but we’ve been more cautious than Essendon though when it comes to injuries.

I actually don't begrudge Carlton for this position. Dodoro created a persona where people need to be aggressive stubbornness just to deal with him!

Now he has to live with it as the seller with little to no leverage... Which is not fun when the buyer is being aggressively stubborn!

Would have definitely pushed out Strachan. Would keep Hartigan for another year as a backup in case Doedee or Talia goes down. He may get offered 2 years elsewhere though which I wouldn't match.

Is it worth it, though? He might be an upgrade on Murphy, but how significant? We already have Murphy - is it worth giving anything up to bring in Fantasia vs just keeping Murphy and using that draft pick on a kid or bundling it up to move another pick up the order or use on our FS / NGA players etc?
